Don't Allow the Global Downturn to Cause a Personal Recession in Your Small Business
by
Lance Winslow
As a retired entrepreneur and the founder of a franchising company, I often like to assist small business startups and help them through the arduous process of government regulations, and prevent them from falling into one of the many tiger traps. Often, I will consult people online or talk with local business people over coffee. One thing I've noted is the tremendous number of complaints and excuses for lack of success amongst small business startups and entrepreneurs.

The Velvety Sounds of Ben Bernanke
by
John Whitefoot
The sound of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke's voice isn't quite as soothing and reassuring as Perry Como's... but it's something penny stock investors and market analysts are (slowly) warming up to.

Google "Pay-As-You-Perform" Model for TV Ads Will Give Insights for Marketing to Social Media Sites
by
Bruce Godden
Google's collaboration with Echostar which will price Google TV Ads on a pay-as-you-perform basis will give online marketers valuable insights not only into how Google is likely to monetize YouTube (Google's top 2008 priority according to Google CEO, Eric Schmidt), but insight and strategies for the marketing content and techniques that will attract audiences on social media sites generally. Google TV Ads' pay-as-you-perform model will see marketers whose ads do not perform as well based on audience response pay more for the same ad slot than advertising bits that do perform well and attract and retain viewers.

Local Search And Mobile Search Is Fast Morphing Into a Web 3.0 Online Marketing "Perfect Storm"
by
Bruce Godden
How Web 2.0, which focuses on the ready availability of technology and consumer trends that have made local search and mobile search key areas for both small business and large business to focus their online marketing efforts on, behind them lurks an even bigger marketing storm - Web 3.0. Both online and 'bricks-and-mortar' businesses will want to ensure that the convergence of mobile technology, consumer trends and capabilities together with the emergence of so-called "cloud computing" do not leave them stranded in the doldrums of outmoded business models, while other, more techno-savvy online marketing strategies help their competitors sail away from them on the winds of change.

Here's Why the Market Tanked When Geithner Spoke!
by
Sean Hyman
Traders and investors alike have been waiting for Geithner's speech. However, what he ended up doing was opening up more questions than answers. Until we get some "light" as to which way this will all go, the markets will continue to be choppy and erratic.

Why Cable Business News Will Drive Your Investments Into the Ground
by
Dana C
The business reporting business, much like the regular media outlet, is like a stage. There is a cast of characters. They play their roles to the T, and they do not improvise. The networks themselves are self-serving media machines that get turned on for one reason and one reason only: to make a profit.

by
Lance Winslow
The US FDA has filed a lawsuit in the fourth district court of the North Pole against Santa Claus Corporation, and may consumers are outraged. Apparently, the agency has been cracking down on labeling of food products, and Santa Corps [NYSE Symbol CHRS] has been individually wrapping each candy cane it distributes without labels of the ingredients.
