Review: Journey 2: The Mysterious Island
by
Jaskee Hickman
I've never had the experience of being a step-child or a step-parent, but I know some people who have been on either side of the spectrum when it comes to that living arrangement. Those relationships can be tough and strenuous in many cases, because the kids might not take to the new adult in their lives. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island sheds a little bit of light on the subject while going on an adventure of a lifetime.

Movie Review - Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012) (PG)
by
Chris Pandolfi
This is going to sound crazy, but when I originally saw the trailer for Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, I had no idea it was a sequel to 2008's Journey to the Center of the Earth. Perhaps I would have known this had I been aware of Jules Verne's novel Mysterious Island, but apart from my days as an English major and a brief binge on Stephen King and J.K. Rowling, I've never been much of a reader. I definitely prefer movies; apart from the general absence of exposition, the stories are literally visualized.

Movie Review - The Hunger Games (2012) (PG-13)
by
Chris Pandolfi
That The Hunger Games is so timely and intelligent is precisely the reason why it's also so frightening. It depicts a time and place in which the failures of mass society are exploited for the entertainment of the privileged few. In this case, it's in the form of an annual competition to the death, one that's captured via hidden cameras and aired for the rest of the world to see. Whatever they call it in this alternate reality, it would be called reality TV in ours. Thank God, we have not devolved to the point of watching people kill each other. We have, however, sunk to some pretty low depths. We celebrate people like Simon Cowell and Gordon Ramsay, who achieve notoriety by being bullies. We watch as groups of men or women vie for a marriage proposal from a woman or man they know nothing about. We witness Kim Kardashian earn millions for doing nothing, apart from looking beautiful.

Movie Review of The Hunger Games
by
Crista White
Unless you've been living on the remote outskirts of civilization, you've undoubtedly been seeing and/or hearing coverage about the latest best-selling book turned movie, "The Hunger Games". As someone who, on the advice of a good friend, read the entire trilogy and who looked forward with some hesitation to the film adaptation, allow me to tell you if they made a successful jump from page to screen.

by
Robin Rushlo
That's right how do I get people to read this article? I know, do you know? There are tons of articles about just about any subject anyone could imagine. Now with Ezines, printed articles, blogs, websites, everywhere we look there is information about something. This includes articles about people like Chris A. Hutcherson or Chris Hutcherson, or Josh Hutcherson or maybe even Gary Goldstein. So how do you get people to filter out all the other stuff and read your particular article?

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire - Movie Review
by
Leslie Halpern
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," the highly anticipated sequel to 2012's "The Hunger Games," ignites the screen with action, romance, courage, deception, violence, and, of course, lots of fire. Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland, and most of the others from the first film reprise their roles of inhabitants in a futuristic war-ravaged North America.

"Little Manhattan" Is Not Cute or Well Done, It Misses the Mark With Really Corny Dialogue
by
Ed Bagley
Little Manhattan is a comedy about a couple of fifth graders in New York who explore their budding emotions in a personal relationship at the attraction stage. Gabe, the young boy, finds his parents going through a rough time in their marriage as his dad and mom are still together, but his mother is dating other men. His parents are all but separated in the truest sense of the word, and on the verge of divorce, when Gabe, who thinks girls are gross, suddenly falls in love with Rosemary. Therein lies the undoing of this movie that you want to like more than it is likeable.
