Fantasy Baseball 2009 - Player Spotlight - Brian McCann
by
David L. Rogers
.301 batting average, 23 home runs, 87 RBI, Pretty impressive statistics for any baseball player, but when these are the #s from the catcher position on your fantasy team, they become incredible. Brian McCann is currently hands down the #1 option behind the plate for a fantasy team, and if you are lucky enough to get him on draft day, you can expect enormous production from the league's best hitting catcher.

What Might Have Been
by
Daniel Doyle
Jeff Francoeur was supposed to be the face of the Atlanta Braves future. He was the next Chipper Jones. Somewhere along the line, things changed. Now, Francoeur finds himself in New York after his two year slump was no longer tolerated by Atlanta's front office. Oh, what might have been Jeff Francoeur.

Best Fantasy Baseball Catchers 2009
by
Christopher Hufnagel
The catcher position in past seasons has been one that was just filler. For real Baseball teams the defense that a catcher provides is far more important than there offensive value. Since all we care about as fantasy baseball managers is offensive production the catcher spot has usually been a position that is drafted later in the draft. Here are my tier rankings for fantasy baseball catchers in 2009.

2007 Atlanta Braves Preview
by
William Young
The Braves missed out on the stale Champagne celebration in 2006 after 14 consecutive division titles in the previous years. The Atlanta Braves finished third in the National League East behind the Mets and Phillies. As if that weren't enough of a stunner, the principal culprit was pitching. The Braves ranked second in the NL in runs scored and first in slugging percentage, but finished tied for 10th with a .460 team ERA. With the Mets loading up, Pat Gillick reconfiguring the Phillies' roster, and the Marlins stockpiling young arms, it's going to be a challenge for the Braves to rediscover their old mojo in 2007.

2011 Fantasy Baseball Catcher Rankings
by
Phil Hedreth
While others are compiling lists of the best available players, you will be crafting a team with the goal of winning categories. It's simple marginal value. Take the parameters your are forced to accept in your league rules and find where that creates value. The auction dollar values below are based on projections for a 5X5 12 team mixed rotisserie league. This isn't a guess of how much players will go for, but rather our idea of how much your budget they'll be worth for the 2011 season.
