Watch Emile Hirsch on Satellite TV
by
John R. Harrison
Born in California in 1985, Emile Hirsch is one of the hottest young stars of his generation. The actor has starred in some of the biggest films of the past decade, and you will instantly recognize his face if you happen to see it while channel surfing with satellite TV. But you might not necessarily recognize his name. For whatever reason, despite starring in big-budget movies that have made a killing at the box office and are all the rage on satellite TV as well, he has failed to gain the kind of name recognition that actors like James Franco or Leonardo DiCaprio have. But no longer will this be true, if you simply study Hirsch's resume, and make a point of checking him out the next time that you watch TV or go to the movie theater. You will instantly be hooked.

Instincts: How Do They Affect You and How Do You Use Them?
by
Chris King
When I decided to write an article about "instinct" I was curious about the similarities and differences between "instinct" and "intuition." Yes, there is a similarity, but when we compare the dictionary definitions, we find that an instinct is, "a natural or inherent aptitude, impulse, or capacity had an instinct for the right word" whereas intuition is, "The act or faculty of knowing or sensing without the use of rational processes; immediate cognition."

Essential Supernatural Thrillers
by
Whitney Alen
The supernatural or supranatural has fascinated human beings for centuries. Every culture has some form of supernatural belief be it ghosts, spells, divinations, or magic. Naturally, or shall we say, preternaturally, the supernatural is the perfect theme for the big screen.

Film Review of the Ruins (2008)
by
Robin Maxwell
Carter Smith's The Ruins opens innocently enough. Four American teenagers sun themselves in a resort in Cancun, Mexico. They meet a German guy looking for his brother, and they join him and his friend as they search for the ruins the brother was last seen in. As they come across the ruins, they appear to be covered in strange looking vines and plants. Someone touches the vines, and all hell breaks loose. Angry locals appear from the jungle, and in a tense scene kill one of the tourists. Everyone is scared, and the young group head up the ruins to what they think is safety...

Sucker Punch (2011) - Zack Snyder's Newest Eye Candy
by
S Setiawan
Zack Snyder's upcoming movie, Sucker Punch (2011), have attracted a lot of attention since the newest trailer came out in early November. Snyder's new fantasy world involved fire-breathing serpents, giant robots, samurai warriors, and sexy girls wielding swords and machine guns. It will be a serious summer movie contender, but can Snyder's Baby Doll take up the challenge of her enemies?

Movie Review: Sucker Punch (2011)
by
Joel Massie
The film begins with a string of non-stop slow-motion sequences that results in a surprisingly polished introduction to young Baby Doll's (Emily Browning) predicament. When her mother dies and leaves her estate to her two daughters rather than their scheming stepfather, Baby Doll's attempt to save her younger sister from the abusive man ends in tragedy. Sent to the grimy grey Lennox House for mentally insane girls, Baby Doll has a mere five days before she is scheduled to be lobotomized thanks to the underhanded dealings of her stepfather and a crooked orderly. Unable to cope with the tortuous horrors of reality, she substitutes her true surroundings with that of a nightclub run by Blue Jones (Oscar Isaac) and Madame Gorski (Carla Gugino).

Sucker Punch Blu-Ray Review
by
Steve Exeter
It infuriates me that Sucker Punch has been universally demonised in the mainstream press for being the one thing that it clearly isn't and anyone with a modicum of intelligence will appreciate that this is not a movie that sets out to further objectify or exploit women. Unfortunately such vehement negative press will undoubtedly put a lot of people off seeing it and drawing their own conclusions and this worrying trend in film criticism is tantamount to censorship in my opinion. So why was Sucker Punch so reviled?

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire - Movie Review
by
Leslie Halpern
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," the highly anticipated sequel to 2012's "The Hunger Games," ignites the screen with action, romance, courage, deception, violence, and, of course, lots of fire. Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland, and most of the others from the first film reprise their roles of inhabitants in a futuristic war-ravaged North America.
