Chelsea Owner Roman Abramovich Opens the Books on His Wealth
by
Rebecca Jane Karen Smith
Russia's fifth richest man has declared he will run for re-election as a member of parliament for Chukota, Russia, where he served as Governor for eight years from 2000. Russia's election laws require all candidates standing for election to declare their assets before they run for office.

Chelsea FC's Roman Abramovich Buys GBP 25 Million Stop Gap London Property
by
Rebecca Jane Karen Smith
As a requirement of owning such an important building, Abramovich will have to forego his privacy because the National Trust regularly opens the entrance and its gardens to the public. One such occasion will be Open House London Day between 17th to 18th September when thousands of visitors are allowed access to historically significant properties throughout England.

Arshavin to Barcelona Or Chelsea?
by
Syddel Worrell
Andrei Arshavin, is still in the hunt for a new club after two spectacular performances at this year's Euro 2008, which has seen him receive interest from various clubs, including Barcelona, Arsenal and now Chelsea. Arshavin is interested in a move to Barcelona, the club he has been a fan of since he was a boy, but new reports suggest that Chelsea have now entered the race for the player, and rightly so. I stated in one of my earlier post that Roman Abramovich, Chelsea's owner, being Russian, should bring in at least one of the talented countrymen.

Scolari to Chelsea Official
by
Syddel Worrell
Given the fact that Luiz Felipe Scolari has now been officially appointed coach of Chelsea, it will be very interesting to see what the Brazilian has to offer. Said to be a man who always has good relationships with his players by interacting with them and seeing how they like to play and where on the pitch. To see him coaching Chelsea will be very interesting indeed.

Chelsea Set to Dominate European Football
by
David Carter
Chelsea Football Club, bankrolled by the Russian Billionaire Roman Abramovich, seem set to dominate European football. They have already won the league in England, and are now targeting the European Champion's League. The question is, can anyone stop them? They certainly can't out muscle them in the heavy wallet department...

Chelsea Managers
by
James Griffiths
Chelsea FC have always had a talent for picking some outstanding managers, and their past three have been no different. In 2004 the London club hired the 'special one', Jose Mourinho. The outrageous Portuguese manager brought a real spark to the club with his mardy attitude, labeling himself as one of the greatest managers ever, although the big headed forty five year old did have some evidence to back himself up, winning the Premier League trophy twice in his first two seasons at the club, as well as picking up two League Cups, an FA Cup and a Champions League title in his three year period at the club.

The 'Anyone But Chelsea' Movement Has More Ammunition
by
William Geldart
The hopes of thousands of neutral fans across the country who were intent on witnessing a fairytale finish to the season were dashed last Saturday as Chelsea secured their first ever League and Cup double courtesy of their 1-0 victory over Portsmouth in the FA Cup final. Pompey were awarded a golden chance to bring cheer to the nation however Kevin Prince-Boateng fluffed his lines, missed a penalty and his side were eventually made to pay when Didier Drogba fired in the winner from a free-kick just three minutes later.

Soccer - With the World in Financial Turmoil, How Safe is the English Premier League?
by
Sean Anthony Smith
Roman Abramovich is selling up at Chelsea because he can't afford to borrow another 1.8bn from the Russian government to keep him in Shevchenkos. West Ham owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson is facing the poor house, and even Man City's trillionaire sheikh is losing hundreds of millions of pounds a day. Is the super-rich Premiership really immune to the nightmare scenarios facing ordinary companies?

Are Billionaires Ruining Football?
by
Sundip Tailor
When Roman Abramovich assumed ownership of Chelsea FC in 2003, it didn't take long for the then manager Claudio Ranieri to say he felt like he was in a sweet shop. Chelsea spent hundreds of millions on footballers and went on to win trophy after trophy.
