The Arizona Ash tree (Fraxinus velutina) is common in Arizona, and many other species of ash tree grow well in Arizona. They grow fast and offer lots of lovely shade. Healthy ash trees are large and beautiful, but take a bit of care and effort to maintain them. Taking good care of them will help boost their defenses against the pests and diseases that can plague ash and other shade trees. Regular pruning is important, but mostly, they just need plenty of water and a good yard to grow in.

Emerald Ash Borer was first found in North America near Detroit, Michigan in 2002.
