Before visiting Gettysburg, I thought that I would be able to feel a sense of settlement in my soul about the grand rift in our history while standing on that hallowed site, but I came away with more questions than answers. Who were these men who waged such a gruesome war on their fellow countrymen?

If you are at all interested in either Pennsylvania or American history, you will certainly have heard of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and the historic activities that took place there during the American Civil War. The three day long battle that took place there in July 1863 was cruel and bloody, but was hailed as a victory for the Unionist North.

by
Christopher John Green
Watching Spielberg's film "Lincoln", I was reminded of the Gettysburg Address. Why is such a short speech remembered 150 years later? I believe it is a great example of less is more in speech writing.
