CMS - Medicare PECOS Ruling May Affect Payments by Medicare
by
Michele Redmond
Medicare's new deadline of July 6, 2010 says that all ordering and referring providers must be enrolled in the PECOS system or claims may be rejected and payments denied. Unfortunately this can affect not only the doctor who is referring but the specialist he referred the patient to. Many providers are not even aware of what the PECOS system is.

Is Your Referring Physician Enrolled in PECOS?
by
J. Paul Spencer
Beginning on October 5th, if the name of an ordering/referring provider appears on a Medicare claim, this provider will be compared against the Provider Enrollment Chain and Ownership System (PECOS). Between this date and January 3, 2010, if the referring provider is not found in the PECOS system, informational claim adjustment reason codes and remittance advice remark codes will appear on the explanation of Medicare benefits stating that the ordering/preferring provider identifier is invalid.

Alexander N J Booth
When getting started in N Gauge model railways you will obviously want to buy a starter set to get you going. You could buy a complete Train Set like one that Graham Farish or Dapol do that comes complete with the Track, Locomotive, Wagons/Carriages and Controller. If you would like more control over what you are building but don't want to buy it piece by piece (trackwise) then you may consider buying the PECO ST300 starter track set.

A Cowboy Named Pecos Bill
by
Pollux Parker
A "fakelore" is a story or a character that is presented as folklore but is really not. For a story of a concept to be part of folklore, it has to be handed down by generations so that the origin of the lore is very much unclear. A fakelore is something that was invented or created lately but took on a form similar to folklore.

Counter Service at Walt Disney World is Faster, Cheaper and Just Good Food For the Family
by
Bruce A. Brodsky
There are some really great "counter services" restaurants at Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida. This is a first-person presentation on three of them: Flame Tree Barbecue, The Earl of Sandwich and Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café. These counter-service options are much faster than sit-down dining (even with the waiting-to-order and pick-up lines) but that only means you get back to your real purpose for being at a Walt Disney theme park. Plus counter-service meals are clearly less expensive for everyone particularly families. Have a magical day.

The Past Was Looted - Now It's Saved
by
Cathy Robbins
Archaeologists are dedicated scientists, but for many American Indians they have been nothing more than looters, taking bodies and cultural treasures out of the homeland. In 1999, the people of Pecos Pueblo in New Mexico brought home 2000 ancestors from Harvard. Their story and others have led to cultural renewal, symbolized most dramatically with the National Museum of the American Indian.
