White Night Melbourne
Melbourne - Sports, Culture and Class
by
Gavin Wyatt
It may be Australia's second largest city, but Melbourne is seen as leading the country in many other departments. Its sports-mad residents refer to it as the sporting capital of Australia, and the large amount of world class stadiums, tournaments and teams based in the city justify this claim. This sports fever contrasts with, yet is enhanced by, the vibrant arts and crafts scene in the city that has made it the centre of all cultural activity in Australia.

Solei Bar and Lounge, Melbourne, Australia - Review
by
Matty Wilson
Solei is a moderately sized club with a retro-meets-modern look to it, and while the modern look definitely prevails over the retro look, the retro aspects of Solei will gain peoples interest. The front end of Solei has mostly blank grey walls that give the place a minimalist look, and with the bar equipped with cheap drinks and tequilas at the front too, patrons just entering the place will probably ignore the back end of the club at first, wanting to get themselves a drink to start off the night with.

Fusion Nightclub, Melbourne, Australia - Review
by
Michelle Smart
For those ladies and gents ready to step out all night, Fusion is located on level 3 of the Crown precinct. Set yourself up for a great night that kicks off anywhere between 10 and 11.30...but as always, a Friday and Saturday night at Fusion is a full house. The diversity of people is as obvious as the drinks passed over not one, but three bars located around the dance floors.

Baroq House - Melbourne, Australia - Review
by
Dianne Climent
It was a standard beginning to the night. My friends and I caught a cab into the city, and $60 later there we were in Drewery lane, destination, Baroq House. As expected of any half-decent club on a Friday night, the line was ridiculously long.

What to Expect at The Roxanne Parlour, Melbourne, Australia - Review
by
Michelle Smart
Coverlid Place lies down a dodgy street of China town where the neon red lights flash. You may walk pass this place and see the long trail of people. They are not hanging around for a peep show, although that is at the end of Coverlid Place. At the start, however, is Roxanne Parlour. Grabbing a guest list before hand doesn't mean you get first preference. You may find yourself exposed to a rather rich entry fee, depending on the night; you'll find she is a fickle mistress.

Billboard Nightclub, Melbourne, Australia - Review
by
Sophie Lane
If Aladdin's genie was to grant the Mr. Melbourne Metro three wishes, the v-necked jock junkie's requests would undoubtedly comprise of fluoro strobe lighting, multi levelled wide open spaces, and a performance stage boasting some of Australia's finest dj's. Upon attending Russell Street's Billboard nightclub, I am happy to confirm that the Genie can stay inside the lamp. We've found your heaven.

Melbourne is the trendy metropolitan city of Australia. Known for its cafes, restaurants, stylish shopping and shows, it is an excellent location for a driving holiday with magnificent scenery and attractions all within an hours drive of the city centre. Victorias capital promises to keep you fascinated from dawn to way past dusk.

Melbourne's Most Unique Bars - New Guernica - Review
by
Verity Trott
Journeying through a forest-like laneway, following the white picket fence up the stairs, we are welcomed to the smoky, Edenic club, New Guernica. Fake leaves, tree branches and vines reach and creep around the walls and the bar. Stone gargoyles and other fanciful creatures peep amongst the rows of liquor bottles, which sprout from fake grass.

Melbourne's Best Bars - Marmalade Bar - Review
by
Jemma Michelle Thomas
I have a slight fondness of the idea that finds me nestling into a vintage Chesterfield amidst the sounds of good tunes that subtly blend with murmurs of conversation, all the while swilling a large glass of delicious Pinot. OK, as over the top as that sounds, I have found a place that combines an extremely modern take on my ideal late afternoon
evening activities.
