George Washington

George Washington
George Washington
by
D DeAngelis
George Washington had been a very good leader throughout his entire life. He had many responsibilities when he first had the idea of a democratic government, not having a dictatorship like most of the countries at his time. He had to work as hard as he ever had to make this work how he wanted. George Washington was and still is considered to be one of the best leaders in the history of the United States. The ones that I will be explaining are perseverance and courageousness.

George Washington - Planter To President
by
Alfred Grenfell Fishburne, Jr
In temper and outlook George Washington had little in common with such radicals of the Revolution as Samuel Adams and Thomas Paine. He was a well-to-do planter, who felt the pinch of British imperial control in matters involving his daily activities. When not yet twenty-one, Washington began his remarkable military career. When war broke out, a commander-in-chief of the united colonial forces was required. Washington was the logical choice because of previous military service. At war's end in 1782, George Washington faced perhaps the biggest crisis of his career, one that would define his character as a great American hero.

George Washington Political Cartoons - The Man That Could Not Tell a Lie
by
Ian Pennington
No doubt it must be difficult to live the lives of a politician and have to read about oneself in the daily newspaper. Since the 19th century when political cartoons started making their way into the media much controversy has risen about them. Political cartoons are used daily to express ideas and opinions in ways in which words can not always do so.

Was George Washington a Christian, Or Not? Conclusive Evidence!
by
Dennis Woods
The mythological portrait of the Christianity of George Washington painted by many of his biographers does not square with volumes of official and private papers in the Washington archives. Better to look at the Constitution he gave us, than what he said or was said about him.

George Washington - One of History's Fearless Men
by
John Mummery
I've always admired George Washington: he was our 1st President, a Founding Father and fought to preserve freedom. I could only admire him from a distance though because he was always talked about as if he were not human. It inspires me to now know that he was a man just like me. He wasn't born with Greatness but became Great through self-development and life. This is how he encourages me most... a mentor and role model for men of this generation as well.

George Washington Forgeries
by
David Thoreau
George Washington forgeries by Joseph Cosey or Robert Spring can be very valuable in their own curious way. However, letters that are handwritten and signed by either Cosey or Spring are quite rare and sought by collectors because of their reputations as preeminent holograph imitators of George Washington and other famous Americans.

President's Day: It's All About George Washington
by
Julee Morrison
Here we are, the third Monday in February celebrating President's Day. In reality it is George Washington's Birthday we celebrate, which was February 22, 1732.
Abraham Lincoln's birthday was February 12, 1809 and while it is close to Washington's date of birth, it is not a Federal Holiday.

God's Providence: George Washington
by
Michael S Lampiris
By GOD's Providence, George Washington was protected beyond all human probability. George Washington, who was indispensable in the founding of the American nation, suffered no wounds during the Battle of Monongahela, even though eighty-five of his fellow officers on horseback were struck down. He was uninjured though fifteen enemy marksmen specifically targeted him, four bullet-holes were shot through his uniform, and two horses were shot from underneath him. The LORD most certainly protected him.

What the Education of George Washington Can Teach Us
by
Kayley Kenzie
Compared to other leaders of his day, the education of George Washington was limited. Unlike his two older half-brothers, he did not go away to England for his education. He didn't even go to college or study an additional language.
