The BAFTAS 2011: Preview Vs My View
by
Alexandra Brunel
Like many film-goers, I stand on the outside of the film industry and look in at what those on the inside (apparently) want me to like. This is never more clear to me than during BAFTA and OSCARS season. Once again, we may look in amazement at the 2011 nominations, and wonder what - exactly - awards are all about.

In a BAFTA State of Mind
by
Alex Oriani
There are some places that, for one reason or another, are magical. The BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) is one of those. It's in Piccadilly, and to get there you pass by Waterstones and Fortnum and Mason on one side of the street, and the Royal Academy of Arts on the other.

Red Carpet Dresses at the 2009 BAFTA Award Ceremony
by
Joanna Steele-Perkins
While many people are genuinely interested in the results of this year's BAFTA awards, there are also a great many people who are more interested in what the stars are wearing on the red carpet. This year there were many more black dresses than recent years; could this be due to the current economic climate?

Slumdog Millionaire Scoops Up the Bafta's
by
Musa Aykac
The British film which is set and filmed in India is a very compelling romantic drama. The storyline basically evolves around a young boy who grew up in a slum neighborhood and then got the chance to appear on the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire show and manages to get all the way up to the last answer. The plot thickens when authorities then start to accuse him of cheating his way to the top, but the film then portrays his life in flashbacks and offers an in depth explanation of how an uneducated boy knows ...

The Indian Confusion Over the Oscars
by
Kunal Pandya
It looks sometimes very interesting and surprising to me as to how much we get undue influence by the western media and western publicity and almost whatever they do. Nobody knew Danny Boyle in India even after the release of Slumdog Millionaire worldwide (now I'm not saying he wasn't known among the industry experts, they know every new kid of the block as it's their business). But, as soon as the news of Slumdog Millionaire begging 4 Golden Globes and 7 BAFTA awards spread, Danny Boyle was already a superstar film maker overnight!

Diamond Jewelery
by
David K Fox
Diamond jewelery can be made up of many different items including diamonds on their own, diamond rings which can be specific to a particular event for example an engagement, diamond eternity rings which are most commonly given after a child's birth, diamond bracelets, diamond earrings, diamond necklaces and diamond pendants. In fact diamonds can be worn just about anywhere so long as they can be planted into something that one can wear. Diamonds become most noteworthy when on display by those people carrying a particular significance.

Lawrence G Bernstein
And the winner is...YOU! It's time to arrange your face into a look of perplexed wonderment. Smile, gasp, shake your head. Whisper things like: 'Who me? Little old me?' Hug everybody around you, then hug them again.
