Are you like me? It is Saturday night, your friends and their significant others are off for another fun night of music and dancing. You would really like to go, except you can't dance, or at least you think you can't and that is enough to stop you from going.

Dancing With the Stars - Truly Outstanding Costumes
by
Alex Marie Jude
I love Dancing with the Stars. It's not your typical reality show in that it's not about just anyone off the street trying to sing or perhaps a collection of very carefully screen "reality" contestants off eating rats on a desert island somewhere. Dancing with the Stars is a collection of about a dozen celebrities (or almost-celebrities) who need a bit of popularity boost or just have time for the indulgence of ten weeks to compete on the show.

Look How Far We've Evolved - We're Now "Dancing With the Stars'"
by
Aminatou Samuel
What Would You Give To Become A Really Good Dancer? How much would it be worth for you to make yourself so popular through your ability to dance all of the very latest steps, that everyone would be anxious to have you attend their social affairs? Good dancers always have the best time. The best dancers and the prettiest girls always want a good partner. From the business well as the social standpoint, it really is time and money profitably spent to add dancing to your accomplishments. Especially so, since it now cost so little - and a fine dancing ability can be mastered in only a few hours.

So with Blaine Gabbert, Prince Amukamara and Robert Quinn still on the 2011 NFL Draft board, the 49ers drafted a 21-year-old defensive end from Missouri. Welcome to the San Francisco 49ers Aldon Smith? It doesn't have the same ring to it that maybe Blaine Gabbert does, but it is a somewhat knowledgeable pick.

10 Top Reasons You Should Learn to Play 'Chord' Piano
by
Duane Shinn
There are roughly umpteen zillion reasons why you should learn enough chords to be able to "chord a song" at the piano. By "chord a song", I mean the ability to play 3 or 4 chords on the piano in some sort of rhythm while you or someone else sings the tune. To do this, you don't need to be a Van Cliburn; all you need to do is learn a few basic chords and be able to more back and forth between them in some organized rhythmic pattern.

What is Palimony?
by
Joseph Devine
If you read gossip columns, you may have come across the term "palimony" in the past and wondered what, exactly, it is. Palimony is a portmanteau derived from the words "pal" and "alimony," and describes a settlement in which one former partner pays money to the other. It is not an actual legal term, but is rather a sort of joke meant to describe a rather uncommon legal agreement.

Swine Flu School Closings
by
Mirian Guimaraes-Thomas
When a widespread outbreak of a contagious disease or virus occurs, sometimes governments, on the advice of their health advisors take action in closing some public institutions - schools are usually top of the list. The other scenario in not to serious outbreaks is to keep the institutions and schools open as normal, save for the exclusion of the afflicted. This latter action for obvious reasons causes far less disruption but is not without controversy!

School Closings - Unexpected Opportunities
by
Kent R Kerr
Some parents think of school closings as their worst nightmare. They are used to the day going a certain way, and those things can get thrown out the window when the weather or some other unexpected occurrence that causes school to be closed. You may have to adjust your day and forget some of the things that you needed to get done and enjoy the extra time that you have with your kids.

School Closings Do Not Mean A Better Education
by
Paul Fischer
The main rationale given for school closings are based upon the under utilization of the classrooms. My main problem with this logic is that the quality of education should be the ultimate concern, not a percentage of building utilization.

Challenges Facing Education - Ramifications of School Closings and Charter Schools, Part IV
by
Janice Hypolite
When schools are closed and not turned around, the students are transferred to another school. Sometimes this involves a much longer walk to school in the morning and going home after school. The students may also have to go through hostile territory to get to school. Other problems can result.

Chat About Roast Beijing Duck and Chinese History For Beijing 2008 Olympics
by
Tang FuMin
The method used at first in China for roasting a duck was almost the same as that used in the Western world for roasting a goose. It was called "roasting duck in the hermetic oven". Were essentially those that characterized the Western mode of preparation of roast goose. An oven was built by laying stones or bricks. Therefore, don't miss the opportunity of tasting this "delicacy in the land under heaven", as the Chinese call it, when you come to watch or take part in the Beijing Olympics.

The Classical Gold and Jade Figurines of China

This article describes the contributions made in the history of ancient China to the figurines we see today. It will discuss the history of the Qin dynasty's fascination with gold and jade ornaments as well as luxury items which established a tradition. It will give examples of the ancient ornaments and artifacts to prove the tradition of shaping figures beginning thousands of years ago. It will conclude with an application of this knowledge to the contemporary art pieces available in the present time.

Beijing and Its Traditional Cuisines
by
Jeff Molenda
Whatever impressions you may have about the city, one thing is undeniable: Beijing hosts a magnificent selection of regional Chinese restaurants. This aspect alone makes the trip worthwhile. Food has occupied a central role in Beijing for thousands of years, as can be gleaned by the role of serving various dishes to the spirits of the deceased. It is said that Beijing food reflects the country's tumultuous history. Famines would ensure that precious little ever went to waste. The need to conserve fuel also induced ancient Chinese chefs to slice meats and vegetables in order to reduced cooking time. While people could always buy food at inns and markets, restaurants, as social centers and culinary institutions, took root only in the Song Dynasty. We can divide traditional Beijing restaurants into three main groupings: Shan Dong style cuisine and Chinese Muslim hallal fare.

History of the Chia Pet
by
E Mike Lewis
The Chia seed has received much attention since its labeling as a 'super food'. The author Christopher McDougall is probably the man most responsible for popularizing the nutritional benefits of the Chia seed. In his book "Born to Run" he recounted his introduction to Chia by the Tarahumara Indians in Mexico's isolated Copper Canyons. McDougall was given a porridge of Chia, lime juice and water by the Tarahumara which he found gave him tremendous long lasting energy. However, McDougall is not the reason everyone knows about Chia.

A History of Tapestry - Part 1
by
Angela Dawson-Field
It is difficult to put an exact date on when and where the art of tapestry originated as the surviving evidence is both rare and fragmented (true tapestries include various primitive textiles woven on the rudest of early looms). However, the evidence we do have indicates that the earliest known tapestry weaving was worked in linen by the Ancient Egyptians between the period 1483 and 1411 BC. Some scholars believe that tapestry art was introduced to the Egyptians by the ancient people of Mesopotamia.

Golden State Warriors Need To Throw the House At Andrew Bynum
by
Scott Semmler
Andrew Bynum is available for trade, or at least we think he is after a "bush league" foul on the Dallas Mavericks' J.J. Barea, paired with speculation that Dwight Howard may be heading west to Los Angeles has sent the NBA media's minds wandering. Bynum's departure from Game 4 of the Lakers/Mavericks series seemed almost Lebron James-esque. James left his last game as a Cleveland Cavalier in much the same way Bynum did, with their shirts off as if to say "I'm done with this." Whether Bynum meant to evoke that image or not, we will not know. But it is the Howard heading to L.A. speculation that may play the biggest role in whether or not Bynum is a Laker next season.
