by
Sidney Morgan
The Australian Denmark is not named after, or related to the one in Europe. It received its name because it was established near the Denmark River. The river was named after Alexander Denmark who was a friend of the English explorer who discovered the river.

When England Lived Under Danish Rule
by
Mercedes Rochelle
Almost without exception, we regret the sudden end of the Anglo-Saxon era in 1066. Nonetheless, I think it's interesting that the Danes ruled all of England for more than a generation. Between Canute and his sons, the Danes were kings from 1016 through 1042, yet we still think of England as Anglo-Saxon during that era.

The Harper Brothers - Why Does This Pop-Rock Cover Band Travel From France To Denmark Every Summer
by
Rick Lomas
The Harper Brothers first gigged in Denmark in 2004 in the town of Ringe, which is on the 'middle' island Fyn. The band travelled 1500km from Serre Chevalier in France to Ringe in Denmark in an overloaded van. They travelled through France, Switzerland, Germany with some stops in Belgium and Holland on the way, to play in front of six people at working man's club in Denmark. So why do they keep doing it?

The People of England and Wales
by
Brahva Cwmevos
Wales is one of the four kingdoms of the United Kingdom and the first to be joined with England by Acts of Union in 1536 and 1543. The Anglo-Saxons (persons from around Denmark and Germany) invaded and conquered England after the Romans left had no love for the people already there. The people already there are which modern persons now call 'Celtic'.

Sommer's Automobile Museum in Denmark
by
Brenda Williams
Although Denmark is a small country it still has an excellent repertoire of automobile collections in museums throughout the nation. While by no means the largest, the Sommer's Automobile Museum might be one of the most interesting due to its unique background. Ole Sommer's grandfather owned a Ford Dealership, "SIMO" in Frederiksberg, a suburb of Copenhagen.
