Lion Air

Lion Air
Ishasha Sector and the Tree Climbing Lions
by
Shanice Nami Gavoola
Having been woken up at 0600 hours that my tea was outside my tent, I jumped out of bed and sat on the canvas chair taking pleasure in the early African light, eavesdropping to the river rush past. Normally a little stream with sandy banks, hippos and elephants crossing, feeling an African touch! The river had now turned into full flood after the deluge of rain a few days ago. This was the rainy season. My bush shower had previously been elevated up so after enjoying the morning light I went back into my tent for a quick hot shower before rising more awake to go on a game drive in this re-known Ishasha sector - famous for its tree climbing Lions.

Hippo Hassles and Problem Lions
by
S Robinson
The first hunt of my 2006 Tanzanian season started in Masailand and was with my old friend, hunting buddy and client Bruce. Like me, Bruce likes to hunt hard and our days usually begin around 0400 hours and we usually get back to camp around 2100 hours. Then we would shower, eat and usually get to bed around 2300 hours. Tough schedule, huh!

The Home of the Asiatic Lion - Gir in India
by
Madan G Singh
There was a time when the Asiatic lion roamed the wilds in India. There are proverbial tales of the Lion in Indian folk lore. The Lion is also a much respected emblem and was used by Emperor Ashoka as his symbol.

African Lion Prey
by
Justin Hodges
The African lion is the top predator on the Serengeti, as well as other parts of the African mainland where it hunts. Being an Apex predator, the lion has just a single natural enemy - humans; however, many biologists don't truly consider man a natural enemy, because we don't generally consume lion meat.

What Has Gotten Into the Detroit Lions?
by
Matt J Ryan
The Detroit Lions, like many other NFL teams, have been around for quite some time. However, no other team has given fans such an embarrassing season as the Lions did in 2008. Their 2008 season was, by far, the worst the NFL has seen in their entire history, yet, Lions fans are loyal and are still standing by their team.

When Lions Roar
by
Robert D Rogers
We see a type of this ministry in the book of Revelation as the two prophets stand up to speak for God. The prophetic ministry up to this point has been somewhat young and immature. Yet there are men and women of God who will begin to roar as lions and as the Word of God says, "who shall not be afraid". The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and wisdom is desperately needed in this hour. These prophets will bring a healthy and humble fear of the Lord back to the Church as well as to the enemies of the Lord.

Lafcadio - The Lion That Shot Back by Shel Silverstein
by
Dohn Paditsone
This article is a book review on the early Shel Silverstein classic, "Lafcadio: The Lion That Shot Back." Some of the themes covered in this article include hunting, the line between man and beast, and (dare I say it) the meaning of life.

Apple Lion OS X Roars, But It Can Also Bite
by
Anthony D Hill
It's been a couple of weeks since Apple released the latest version of its particular computer operating system, OS X 10.7, more informally known as "Lion". Apple uses the names of the big cats for its operating systems, which is why previous releases have been named things like Tiger, Panther or Snow Leopard. Which means that presumably, a few years down the track, Apple may release OS X Ocelot.

Lions of Gir, the Hill, the Bombay Artist - World Poetry
by
John W. Scott
"The Lions of Gir" paints a picture of natural beauty and also fear. Lions of this Gujaratan state are known to take the lives of children there yearly. Dawn of a New Discovery presents world, humanistic, spiritual and issue oriented poetry. The Hill describes poetically the India community that has flowered on Newark Avenue in Jersey City, NJ.
