AFC North 2006 Preview and Projections
by
James Campbell
1) Pittsburgh: The Steelers are still the creme of the crop in the AFC North having now won 31 of their last 38 contests and having been in the playoffs 4 of the past 5 years, however, they must guard against complacency after finally getting over the proverbial hump and winning HC Bill Cowher's first Super Bowl.

NFL Week 5 Point Spread Picks
by
Michael Keneski
Details who we like in NFL week 4. The Browns are once again a home underdog as they were in Week 2 when the upset the Bengals by scoring over 50 points. Things figure to be much tougher on that side of the ball against a very tough Ravens defense that bent some in the second half last week against the Arizona Cardinals before holding on to win.

AFC South 2006 Preview and Projections
by
James Campbell
1) Indianapolis: The bad news for the Colts is that they lost key players RB Edgerrin James, PK Mike Vanderjagt, and some defensive talent to free agency, the good news is that they are a pass first team anyway which somewhat negates the loss of James and they were able to steal away PK Adam Vinatieri from the Patriots and the free agent hits the Colts took on the defensive side of the ball won't hurt much because of the comparatively weak division that the Colts reside in.

John Stolnis
Last night's wild Monday Night win keeps the Bears on top, but could their grasp on that position, along with their undefeated record, be slipping?

NFL Teams: Look Through the Smoke
by
Bryan Leonard
Week 3 of the NFL season provided a great example of why it's so important in the handicapping profession to have patience. Teams don't always look as good as they are expected to be over the first two weeks, while other teams look far better than they really are. It's important not to react to roller coaster swings with teams, but to remain on an even keel with a keen eye that looks beyond the hyperbole. Let's look at some NFL teams that have been distorted because of their play and public perception.

NFL Preview 2006
by
Gale Scheelar
Is this the year of the Colts? That is what everyone is asking and it is clearly a wait and see situation. They still have Manning and Harrison but they have to find a strong replacement for Edgerrin James who opted to go to Arizona. Coach Dungy is clearly a leader in his field but every playoff the Colts find a way to choke-whether it be to the Patriots or the Steelers-makes no difference. In 2005 the Colts won 13 straight out of the gate-then lost to San Diego-then the terrible tragedy that happened in the Dungy family. We will never know if emotions of pain so deep cost the Colts the rest of the season but it is what it is and life goes on. As a parent of 6 children and 2 step-children I can not fathom losing a child and clearly my work would be affected for a very long time. The Colts have always been a favorite of mine and I would love to see them in the Super Bowl this year. Go Colts!
