Corporate Narcissism Is Alive and Well on Wall Street
by
Barbara Caldwell
If you read the definition of individuals with Narcissisti Personality Disorder (NPD), and project these qualities onto Wall Street, there is no denying that there is corporate narcissism at work. We need to realize that this industry, like individuals with NPD, will never change themselves because they don't think they need to. They believe they are too big to jail.

A Contrarian's View On Wall Street's New Best Friend
by
Maximilian Sparrowson
While pessimism about the economy rises daily... And while the economic figures released each week are more dismal... I'm taking the contrarian view again. For now, the stock market tells me that the worse for the economy for 2008 is over.

The Environmentalist Who Screamed Wolf And Why Trust Comes At a High Price These Days
by
Lance Winslow
Not long ago, I was contacted by an environmentalist about an issue at the Salton Sea. I was told that the Salton Sea Level had gone down 3.5 feet in 1 1/2 weeks, also that the State Park rangers say this has never happened before that they know of in recent history. I thought you should know. She made it sound like there were grave concerns, almost as if something very geologically unique was occurring, an anomaly of some type.

The Role of a Securities Analyst and Their Biases
by
Samantha Johnson
It is important to first understand the function of a securities analyst at a brokerage firm. Brokerage firms are Wall Street investment banking firms on the sell side, "selling" investment securities primarily to institutional investors. Unlike a stock analyst at a mutual fund, bank, or investment management firm, research analysts at a brokerage firm do not cater their research to portfolio managers. Their job is to research a particular industry sector and "sell" their research to the brokerage's institutional clients. Analysts narrow their focus on a limited number of companies to track them as thoroughly as possible. They want to be knowledgeable about as many details as possible so they can best assess how both internal and external factors will impact the company.

I Will Take Government Verbal Abuse For Billions of Dollars
by
Nick Adama
The spectacle last week of Wall Street bankers being summoned to Washington, DC to be publicly humiliated in front of members of Congress and the media after running their companies into the ground and squandering hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars begs one question. How do I get one of those jobs? I think I could handle the cost of being paid hundreds of millions of dollars in salaries, bonuses, and stock options with a little public humiliation every few months.

Driving the Wolf Out (A Short Story on Alcoholism)
by
Dennis Siluk Dr.h.c.
Emery Golf shut his eyes. He was starting to hear noises, those that were not within his physical reality, wolf sounds. He knew this kind of nausea would create a long enduring craving, soon to come thereafter the D.T.'s, and the visual appearance of the wolf, all this combined drove the wolf out to be one might say, his unwanted sidekick. The sickness he was feeling was nothing compared to the wolf, if he came completely materialized.

Bonfire of the Vanities - Book Review
by
Kiya Sama
It's the 1980s - a time when Wall Street ruled, Park Avenue was the place to be, and the Bronx was seen as the 'darkest' section of the city. The Bonfire of the Vanities, manages to combine these two vastly different sections of New York with a tale of infidelity, racial and social/class divide, and a justice system that leaves the reader with more questions than answers about the final verdict.
