In times gone by, when giving birth, a pregnant women was usually attended to by a midwife. She (usually an older women who had given birth herself) gave comfort and medical knowledge based on her own experiences. She normally also helped the Doctor, if one was called, during the birth itself.

Emirates Cable Car

What's the new Emirates cable-car for exactly? It's only a few hundred yards long and simply connects the south-of-the-river wasteland of North Greenwich to the north-of-the-river wasteland of eastern Docklands. Commuters won't use (too expensive), Olympic Park
East End tourists won't use it (too far away), and it closes at 9pm which isn't much use for getting home from 02 evening events.
