Friday the 13th Deserves A Sequel

The original Friday the 13th series focused on the story of Jason Voorhees, an undead serial killer who stalked camp counselors and other people living near Camp Crystal Lake. Like many other classic horror films (Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Nightmare on Elm Street) after 11 Friday the 13th movies, the series was essentially restarted with a new Friday the 13th in 2009. However, it appears a sequel has been held up in production limbo and it is time Platinum Dunes -- the company that produced the remake -- gets the ball rolling.

The film opens with the lone surviving camp counselor at Camp Crystal Lake beheading the vengeful Pamela Voorhees, the mother of Jason who had drowned in Crystal Lake. Some time later, Whitney and her friends camp out at Crystal Lake. Jason kills all of them except Whitney, whom he holds captive. After that, her brother Clay journeys out to search for his missing sister.

Friday the 13th TV Show was wildly popular in the late 80's and it was in syndication for 3 years ending in 1990. This television show has no connection to the movie Friday the 13th about Jason Vorhees and the title was a ploy by the producer to bring in audiences.
