xenophobia
A History of Japanese Xenophobia
by
Jessica Spinner
Japanese xenophobia should be understood properly prior to jumping to any reactive conclusions. Xenophobia is not really racism, although it can occasionally cross the line in Japan and both are occasionally evidenced. For Japanese society any xenophobia is more of a fear of the unknown and a fear of being overpowered by that which is unknown. In all honesty, many people in Japan are rather intimidated by other countries and also their relatively large people. It may sound silly, but it really does stem from the most basic things like physical size.

Arizona's New Immigration Law - Leading the Country in Xenophobia
by
Will McCorkle
This past week, the state senate in Arizona passed a bill making it legal for the authorities to detain anyone who they have suspicions of being an illegal immigrant. I wonder who they are going to suspect and detain? Perhaps, dark skinned people, people who speak English with an accent, or who are from a Spanish speaking background.

Xenophobia in a Cuckoo Heart
by
Lynn Finley
The good old dictionary defines Xenophobia as the irrational fear and hatred of strangers or foreigners or of anything that is strange or foreign. But, think about it because it is not true. All countries in the world, without one single honorable exception, are xenophobic to their core.

Xenophobia, Or Hate Your Neighbour Like Yourself
by
Elsabe Smit
People share experiences with us for a reason, a season or a lifetime. They are our neighbours even if they represent our dark sides. Where we hate or reject any of them, we reject a part of ourselves that will not go away.

Xenophobia and You
by
H. Les Brown
If fear lies at the root of every midlife crisis (and it does), then what steps must we take to defeat it? Overcoming cultural bias is a primary strategy.

Xenophobia Hurts
by
Cassidy Saez
Current economic policy is hurting the American economy rather than helping it. By denying work visas to highly qualified professionals the United States is losing valuable resources especially in terms of science and technology not to mention culture. If America continues down a path of intolerance the nation will ultimately miss out on more opportunities than it has gained hiring less qualified American workers.

X Is for Xenophobia
by
Helen Dowling
Xenophobia is the fear of strangers or foreigners so this article is all about turning strangers into friends into customers and it's something that you're going to have to do if you want to succeed in your business. You're going to meet people all the time - whether it's from networking, on the internet, through making calls or through having a press release appear in the local paper. And some of those people we won't know and they won't know us.

Solving the Immigration Problem - Dropping Both Entitlements and Xenophobia
by
J Shannon
For some reason, the mainstream media has been pushing "immigration" as a problem in search of a solution. Why this "smoke and mirrors" issue is being pushed so hard, in light of MORE sweeping legislation being passed by the 111th Congress like the Dodd-Frank Bill, is a bit disconcerting to me. The solution to immigration seems to be a self-evident one; simply allow any foreigner, without a criminal background, that is actively seeking work to stay here.
