Shannon Rae Treasure
This is the second part of the Benton MacKaye Trail which encompasses the stretch from Three Forks to Highway 60. This is probably the most remote trail in Georgia except for one rarely explored trail at the Cohutta Wilderness.
Sharing the footpath with the Appalachian Trail, this second section starts at Three Forks into Long Creek Falls as it turns north separating from the Appalachian Trail at the Duncan Ridge Trail.

Thomas Mahar
In Michigan's Bay City suburb of Essexville on October 17, 1898, a smiling Governor Hazen B. Pingree was on hand to witness the beginning of Michigan's first beet sugar harvest. By doing so, Pingree heralded a period of speculative investment in beet sugar manufacturing marked by the founding of companies that sometimes rose overnight to spectacular heights and just as quickly spiraled downward to oblivion, carrying away the savings of thousands of small investors.

Steven Phillip Brown
Standardized testing has become the archetype of public education in the United States, and the results are generally accepted as valid assessment of educational accomplishment. With an increase in standardized testing the pressure to raise scores begins, which in turn can lead to score pollution, which alters the validity of test score results.
