Teaching The Hunger Games
by
Melissa L McCallum
It's a little surprising, but teaching The Hunger Games has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my entire teaching career. I have always been fond of the classics - To Kill a Mockingbird, Lord of the Flies, Of mice and Men - and I still am, but none of these wonderful books gets students as excited as The Hunger Games. My students fly through the pages as though their lives depend on finishing the book as fast as they can. Teaching The Hunger Games is especially fun and rewarding because of the high entertainment factor, and the complex and important issues it introduces.

The Hunger Games Book Review
by
Roberto Sedycias
In what was to be a war to the finish, 12 unnamed entities attack and try to destroy the United States, only to find themselves the losers in a world where Panem -- the former Washington, DC -- emerges the victor. It's a world where the victor has keep its territories subdued. To do so, it invents the "Hunger Games," by Susan Collins, where two of its finest are sent off to a fight-to-the-death contest.

The Hunger Games: A Dark Insight (Review)
by
Zri Kolsen
The Hunger Games is an unfeasible story, most would think. But then some of the things that we act upon in society today are unthinkable. It's a depressing notion, but as ridiculous as most people think it is, as an extensive metaphor The Hunger Games fit right in with the perverse way of human thought. Suzanne Collins brings us a dreary world that cries for death and blood in the first book of a promising trilogy.
