The World Cup Draw - Fold, Check Or Raise?
by
Ryan Popilchak
Given that the draw can completely change a team's prospects in the tournament, I've always thought it resembled a poker game just as each player is sizing up his/her cards before the flop. Here are some of the poker hands that national teams are staring at after the big draw, along with their winning percentages for games with 4 players. Every hand has it's potential for greatness, possible combinations that will take it to victory and match-ups that it just can't win, which is similar to any team in the tournament.

How to Draw an Octopus
by
Annette Labedzki
Octopuses are eight armed animals that live on the ocean floor. They have soft body with no bone structure, which makes them highly flexible. 300 species of octopuses are known to exist. The Giant Octopus is the largest one, weighing up to 15kg and measuring 7m in length from arm tip to arm tip. The smallest one is the Californian octopus, which is only 1cm long.

Liverpool Draw Man U In FA Cup Third Round
by
Tom Doerr
Bitter rivals Manchester United and Liverpool have face a blockbuster of an FA cup third round after being tied together in the draw. Noel Gallagher of Oasis and Serge Pizzorno of Kasabian took the draw and the match is scheduled to the 8th/9th of January. It was back in 2006 when the teams last faced each other when Liverpool conquered United 1-0 in a match that was overshadowed by the badly broken leg injury of United's Alan Smith.

Hyundai Uses World Cup to Gain Publicity
by
Lucy Penn
As the World Cup draws ever nearer Hyundai have ceased the opportunity to make the most of their affiliation with the 2010 tournament by launching two special edition 'football-themed' i10s. The used Hyundai i10 cars have been covered in artificial turf so that they replicate a football pitch, they have had white lines drawn on and have giant footballs positioned on top of the roof. The windscreen has been made to look like a goal post so it seems as though the driver is peering through the sticks.

Carling Cup Third Round Draw
by
Tim Barclay
Following the weekends Premier League games, attention for English football will turn to the Carling Cup in midweek when the third round ties are played on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd September. There were some interesting results in the second round and some of the bigger teams suffered at the hands of the so called lesser lights of English football, with Blackpool being the biggest casualty. In most seasons the third round usually throws up some good contests and this year is no different with some interesting games due to be played this week.
