Daft Punk
A Brief Review of Daft Punk's Discovery
by
Daniel Rothman
Daft Punk is an electronic music group consisting of the talented French musicians of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. In 2001, following the popularity of their previous album Homework in the late 1990's, Daft Punk released Discovery that exemplified the definition of house electronic music with hit singles such as "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger," which was released before Kanye West decided to make his own rendition of the song (for those who believe he is a true mastermind of rap). In order to analyze the brilliance behind Discovery, I have decided to focus on two songs off the album,...

Review of Daft Punk's "Harder Better Faster Stronger Remix Live"
by
Nicky Gordon
Another impressive component of the song is the use of frequency or pitch. The low base sounds and the high-pitched electric music are perfect for the human ear and these help with the celestial/space effect. To top off the complete live performance, the robots maximize the amplitude or volume.

TRON's Legacy - Not That Far Ahead
by
Jason A Hill
TRON: Legacy has its moments and I admit it is entertaining, but the film falls flat on a weak plot that is little more than a facsimile copy of the original. The original TRON had interesting characters to carry its plot, but Legacy's characters will need the 3D dressing to un-flatten these performances. If you saw the original, nothing in this film will surprise you. It seems to be playing on old TRON fans' curiosity of what they can do with the new CGI, whose best achievement is a young Jeff Bridges's face. As for new viewers to the franchise, it may entertain but this film plays more like an all-night rave than a plot to save the world from digital oppression.

Clash City Rockers
by
Michelle Duffy
The Clash adapted their Punk sound to fit each generation. Those who jumped wildly to the riffs of 'White Riot' and 'I Fought The Law,' were preceded by those of my generation who sang, out of tune and loudly to 'Rock The Casbah,' and 'Should I Stay Or Should I go,' Both groups of listeners heard two totally different sounds from the same band. For the youth of then, they created an anthem for all; Punks, Rockers and Pop freaks alike.

The 5 Best Techno Songs From 1990 to 1995
by
Doug Clyde
I have picked out, in my opinion, the 5 Best Techno Songs from 1990 to1995. I enjoy a wide variety of electronic music, so some of these picks might be better classified as Rave, Electronic Dance, Trance, Eurodance, Electronica or maybe even House. Genres are getting a little too specific anyway, and there are way too many different classifications. So, if the song was at least partly synthetic, and had a good enough beat to dance to it, then it made my list. Techno songs usually have several different mixes of the same song, so if there is a specific version that I like it will be noted after the song title.

Material Girl - Add Some Cool, 80's-Esque Baubles to Your Prom Look
by
Elaine Lynn
What do you think of when you look back on the 80s? Probably Madonna, dancing in period outfits and singing upbeat songs. Maybe Pat Benatar, belting out power anthems.
