Krugman, NYTimes Economist - Ignoring the "Elephants in the Room" - Economic Cliff Ahead!
by
Aaron Kolom
Paul Krugman, the NYTimes Nobel prize-winning economist, in his July 4 article, "The Confidence Fairy Won't Save Us", concludes his advocacy of additional stimulus spending (while ignoring the national debt, joblessness), with, "So the next time you hear serious-sounding people explaining the need for fiscal austerity, try to parse their argument." Of course, the same can be said about Mr. Krugman's argument - what he ascribes to others is also clearly applicable to him: he says, "Well, there have been historical cases of spending cuts and tax increases followed by economic growth, but as far as I can tell,.. the negative effects of austerity were offset by other factors." His words seem fair-minded, however, shouldn't even a far-left economist, especially a Nobel Laureate, recognize when there is an elephant or two in the room?

Dealing with the Costs of College Education - A Parent's Predicament
by
Fae Cheska Esperas
Due to continuous inflation, banks and lending companies are beginning to tighten their standards for loan applications. This may be expected in an economic recession, but the effects brought about by these events are beginning to make a huge impact on American families nowadays, particularly to American parents who are sending their children to college. American parents usually rely on loans to pay for their kids' college education.

Will Blogging Be The Death Of You?
by
Sandy Cosser
Within the last few months 2 prolific, high-profile bloggers have died from massive heart attacks, another suffered a major heat attack but survived. While we can't very well say that blogging killed them, it's entirely possible that the stress caused by the demands of blogging contributed to their heart attacks.

Wanted - Mechanical Engineers to Run Data Centres
by
Sandy Cosser
Some sort of social hierarchy exists in all fields of life, from work to social circles, even within families, although many would deny it. The IT industry, as glorified as it is, has not escaped this phenomenon. According to a nytimes article written by Steve Lohr, "software wizards" and "marketing visionaries" used to be at the top of the heap, while mechanical engineers were taken largely for granted at the bottom. They were expected to go about their dreary business without much thought or innovation, and as long as computers kept running, no one gave them much thought.

Nonsense Sharpens Intellect? - This Happened to Me Really
by
Jeff D. Thomas
Since childhood, I had been a very simple child with zero ambitions, zero intelligence and zero aptitude. Well, I guess referring to a person with those types of qualities as a simple man is not a proper sentence. Anyway, that is not the point of this article exactly. This article revolves around me and especially telling you about the day when I found out something extraordinary about my brain. This is not just for my brain but for every human being.
