Art enthusiasts have been able to indulge their love for Rolf Harris as his national tour continued last week. The Australian entertainment legend was at the Whitewall Gallery in Bournemouth on June 11th to promote his 'A Life in Art' exhibition, which featured a number of limited edition Rolf Harris prints.

Rolf Harris revealed that he would not be the successful artist he is today without the help of his father. The octogenarian told Australian television interview show Enough Rope with Andrew Denton that his father encouraged him to be different and study art even though it made him unpopular with fellow students and teachers. Harris said that his father told him not to conform in order to become a prefect at Perth Modern School as Rolf should embrace his individuality and refuse to change his image.

Rolf Harris' artwork has prestigious fans as his "impressionistic" portrait of the Queen received warm praise from the monarch. The television personality painted the Queen back in 2005 and unveiled his portrait of Her Majesty the following year at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, which is the monarch's official residence in Scotland. Rolf's oil portrait was in honour of the Queen's eightieth birthday and Her Majesty was present for two sittings, which allowed Harris to finish the painting in his studio two months later.
