The Silent War Between Israel And Syria
by
James W Smith
So what happened on the morning of September 6, 2007? Israel has instituted a news blackout beyond saying that Israeli soldiers demonstrated unusual courage in acting against Syria. Syria indicates that Israel violated its airspace and fired missals on ground targets. Iran has been absolutely quiet, very unusual for them. There has been no comment across the Middle East. Europe is quiet on the issue.

Our Political Divide on Syria - What Diplomatic Tact Do We Take Now?
by
Lance Winslow
Well, the media seems to be bombarding us with Super Tuesday News, but that is hardly all that is going on in the world. Perhaps, the results of Super Tuesday will affect other major events around the globe too, as the US is at crunch time to make a decision what to do in Syria, and that will effect what happens in the future with Iran, especially considering they just had their election, and Russia too, both involved in Syria's civil war and bloodshed. How we play this will determine human history in the Middle East for the remainder of...

Syria is Well Adapted at Buying Weapons - Anything it Wants
by
Lance Winslow
It is amazing how much news that Iran gets for their involvement with Hezbollah and Hamas. It seems the world media is focused on Iran because they are building nuclear weapons, and that makes sense considering that they are a state sponsor of proxy terrorist groups. Still, it should be noted that Syria is also well adapted at Buying Weapons, and it is able to get anything it wants.

Why Syria Matters to Us
by
Deborah J. Thompson
Syria has been in the news almost daily for the past 17 months. But how many of us really understand what is happening there and how it matters to us? Father Nadim Nassar is the first and only Episcopal Priest of Syrian descent in the Church of England and recently granted me an interview. This fascinating and information exchange hopefully allowed me to strike the right balance between information, relevance to the readers, and historical context. I hope it helps those of us who aren't well-versed in Middle Eastern politics, to better understand the situation in Syria and how it affects us all.

Syria Is Seriously Not Serving Their Citizens
by
Lance Winslow
What the heck is going on in Syria, how can something labeled the Arab Spring become a perennial protest and chaos driven civil war? The number of people who have been killed in Syria is a scary proposition. And unfortunately the bloodshed isn't over despite the promises of the Assad government in Syria.

Syria Civil War - Airstrikes on Civilians and the Precedent of No Fly Zones
by
Lance Winslow
After Libya it seems that the United States and NATO actually does have a case precedent for establishing a no-fly zone when a government is busy doing airstrikes on its own people. The Assad regime in Syria, unlike Khadafy, actually did use jet fighters and attack helicopters on his own people. If you'll recall Khadafy only threatened to do so, and that's when NATO and the US stepped in with a no-fly zone.

Syria: The Current State of Affairs
by
Camelia Childs
Most of us are painfully aware of the fact that this is the 3rd year in which Syria is still in a bloody conflict. Images with incredible atrocities, civilians attacked by aerial bombs, abuses of all kinds, physical assaults and rape upon women and many other atrocities of the most unimaginable kind have revolted the world and lead to many written news on this subject. Most of us concluded that the situation in Syria is highly problematical.

Is the United Nations Going to War With Syria - Are We Dragging the US Into Something Bigger?
by
Lance Winslow
When militaries go after their own people, many of those in the regime are later charged with war crimes, but not always. Especially if those regimes survive in the process, which also happens more often than not (cite: History). Okay so, let's talk because long about Summer of 2012 and the events in Syria. Well, "Ah, Houston, we have a problem," one might conclude.
