Pope Francis
Pope Francis: Pastor of the World
by
Justin Soutar
The world is now seeing what a devout Catholic pastor of souls from Argentina looks like in the person of our current Holy Father, Pope Francis. He reminds me of the saintly Argentinian pastor of my childhood and early teen years. In our modern secular age, Francis' clear preaching and authentic personal witness to the truth of the Gospel have won the hearts of people all over the world.

by
Justin Soutar
Most of us were expecting a well-known cardinal like Scola or Ouellet or Schonborn to be elected pope in the conclave of 2013. Instead, we got a papal surprise--Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina, was chosen as the 266th pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church.

The Vatican in Rome and the New Pope
by
Angelina Van Kemenade
After 7 years Benedict XVI resigned as pope and gave way to the first Latin American pope, a man born in Buenos Aires, Argentina by the name of Jorge Mario Bergoglio and is now known as Pope Francis. One of the things that make this pope a very special man is the fact that he is very humble in his ways.

Assisi Upset, Francis Thunders, "You Have Blood on Your Hands!"
by
John Omoluabi
Pope Francis deserves our congratulations for this bold utterance. If the Mafia heeds the call of Pope Francis I, they can save themselves and the world from so much agony. Mutant cults who look up to them will notice the change, and some will become less dangerous if not totally transformed over time. The Mafia can change our world for good.

New Pope Elected During Mercury Retrograde
by
Barbara Goldsmith
The new Pope, Francis has just been elected during Mercury retrograde in Pisces. What's interesting about this? He came close to becoming pope last time, reportedly gaining the second-highest vote total in several rounds of voting, so it's quite fitting that during the retrograde he was finally voted in as Pope.

Francis Bacon - The Archetype of Screaming Figurative Art
by
Annette Labedzki
Francis Bacon, best known for his striking Figurative Paintings, was born on October 28, 1909 to English parents in Dublin, Ireland. Highly noted for the passion in his works, Bacon's fanatical approach to art has always been a subject of debate.

Artist Francis Bacon's Lifetime Accumulated Mess Transported Intact to Irish Museum
by
John C Stickler
Francis Bacon (1909-1992) is recognized as one of the most significant post-war painters, his macabre oil portraits acquired by major museum collections worldwide. London/New York publisher Merrell has produced a definitive, retrospective coffee-table volume on Bacon using the device of his unique (read unimaginably messy) studio as the investigative springboard into his career and lifework.
