Situated in Dallas County, today the city of Irving boasts a population of just over 201,000 and is located within the metropolitan area referred to as the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Irving's close proximity to Dallas/Fort Worth and the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport makes it a popular business and corporate location. Although Irving is arguably best well known for being the home of the world famous NFL Dallas Cowboys, it is also home to many large business headquarters including Exxon Mobil, Kimberly-Clark, Omni Hotels and Chuck E. Cheese's, to name just a few. It is also home to Las Colinas, a planned community that includes corporate offices, luxury hotels, office towers, lakes, private country clubs, urban lofts and gated homes. The national headquarters of the Boy Scout of America is also located in Irving. As well, each spring, since opening in 1986 the Four Seasons Las Colinas Resort in Irving has hosted the Byron Nelson Championship PGA event.
