Well, apparently we will never get the true story on Libya, that is to say the Embassy attacks in Benghazi on 9-11-2012. Every time we turn around someone is telling us something different. We have the State Department telling us something, the Obama administration something else, the military commanders a third story, and then we have the CIA filling the mass media with misdirection. If that wasn't enough, we have the Libyan government, the various militias, and even Al Jazeera speculating on what happened. All the while Al Qaeda has claimed responsibility, and the US citizens still don't know a thing.

Senator Barrack Obama stated in an interview that he would call for the removal of all Nuclear Weapons in the United States and negotiate a treaty with our enemies to disarm. He also stated that he was against gas-air weapons like cluster munitions, as they are inhumane. He further stated that he would effectively gut the military budget and bring those funds back for use in social programs.

As we now all know or should do by now, President Obama is an Afro-American, the son of a Muslim father and a one-time resident of Indochina which is predominantly Muslim. The upside to this of course is that it makes it much more difficult for the Islamic world to typecast him as a son of the "Great Satan" especially because his middle name is Hussein.

As the author says in the preface of the book, the focus of the book is on the intersection of post-9/11 national security dilemmas that face the United States and its allies, the development and application of the strategic doctrines and policies that respond to those circumstances, and presidential leadership and judgment that are brought to bear, for better or worse, on these issues, and as the title of the book implies it uses the analysis of two presidencies and the doctrine that both connects and separates them, as a method. After 9/11 when the American national icons were attacked, the Bush Administration put into place a large set of policies designed to prevent another, more deadly attack, policies which were controversial both domestically and abroad. Barack Obama ran for the disagreements which those policies were based on and was elected to the presidency.

Friday President Barrack Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize - while there is already a great deal in the blogosphere on if Obama deserves or does not deserve (another does not) this recognition both in the United States and abroad, , this post is focused on in a different direction - how will this affect Obama's decision making moving forward? It's an impossible question to know the answer for, but it's also one that I think everyone is going to be asking over the next few days.
