by
Andy McCarthy
Over the years, since the establishment of the Emmy Awards in 1949, they have grown into several additional smaller ceremonies to emphasize honors within more local or specialized realm. The numerous sects of the Emmy Awards include:

2012 Emmy Award Predictions
by
Harsha Antony
The 2012 Primetime Emmy nominations were announced last week by Kerry Washington and a pajama-clad Jimmy Kimmel. The nominations, which honor the best in the year of television, were full of old and new favorites, as well as a few significant snubs. As a self-proclaimed television addict, I was in front of the TV when the nominations were announced, and I've compiled my predictions for who will win the major categories, who I think should win, and who was noticeably absent from the nods.

Did You Catch the Emmy Awards?
by
Carl Megill
The person who came up with the idea for five, count them, five reality show hosts to emcee the 60th Annual Emmy Awards is probably working at another job today asking the question, "You want fries with that?" See what I mean in an article subtitled, "Moon Over My Emmy."

Best of the Emmy Dresses
by
Magus Jill
Although the Emmys don't score as much as the Oscars when it comes to who's who of the glamour world, it has its own charm. Most of the red carpet personalities of Emmy's evening belong to the people next door category, although every now and then someone comes out stunningly beautiful, adrift from their roles in popular television shows, which is why Emmy dresses have a great significance.

Social Media at the Emmy's
by
Ehud J Furman
As we've seen before, there is immense power to strengthen your brand and reputation by holding a virtual press conference. Now, entertainment is taking social media and virtual outreach to a new level by making the Emmy Awards social. As Mashable reported earlier this week, the 2010 Emmy Awards will be equipped with Twitter, UStream and yfrog to bring a virtual real-time experience to audiences world-wide. But what are the elements that can make this event a success?

Daytime Emmy Award
by
Andy McCarthy
In 1968, the Emmy Awards had created a category called Outstanding Achievement in Daytime Programming, to honor daytime shows that were overlooked during the primetime ceremony. However, the judges rewarded no one that year, concluding that none of the nominees deserved the award. Daytime television programming remained overlooked until the 1972 ceremony, when The Doctors were honored with the very first Best Show Daytime Emmy.

Emmy Record-Holders
by
Edwin A Onyango
This year's Emmy Awards are slated for 18 September. The night is symbolic of the achievement and workmanship that those in the television industry put into their work. The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences rewards outstanding work that has been done in the television arena over the past year. Some have consistently shown the workmanship that has seen them take the award multiple times. Here is a list of Emmy facts on such:

Emmys Broadcast
by
Andy McCarthy
In 1965, the sister organizations of both Los Angeles' Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and New York's National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences both aimed to boost the prominence of their Emmy Awards ceremony. They looked to Hank Rieger as publicist to establish each year's announcement of the Emmy Award nominees as a momentous annual event.

Katie Holmes Emmy Nomination
by
Celine Dakota
The lack of a Katie Holmes Emmy nomination most certainly counts as a snub, for those who are not sure. Since the announcement of Emmy nominations last July 14, people have been talking about it. "The Kennedys" managed to claim ten nominations, with three of them for actors Greg Kinnear, Tom Wilkinson and Barry Pepper. However, for some reason, her acting efforts have not been recognized. Award snubs are nothing new, especially for the Emmys. Bigger snubs have occurred than the Katie Holmes snub, such as when they snubbed "The Wire".
