Injury Setbacks at Wimbledon
by
Dave Regis
The first week of Wimbledon has delivered us sunshine, dreams of British success, shock defeats and a few more injuries than expected. The sunshine descended on SW19 for an almost glorious week of weather, which for many could be seen as rather surprising. The roof on centre court was only required but a few times, with players and spectators alike being able to bask in the glorious British sunshine.

Karen Samartha Walker
Several times former tennis star have experienced resurgence in their career to hog the limelight once again to the wonder of those who love the sport. Former World No.1 Kim Clijsters is one among those who has defied all belief to achieve some rare distinction. The 29-year-old Belgian came back from an early retirement to win an astonishing 3 Grand Slams after her return to the sport of her choice. Compatriot Justine Henin was another who did come back from retirement. Though the 7-time Slam Champion did not win any Slam on her return and had to retire again after injuring herself, she did reach the finals of the 2010 Australian Open which was a feat in itself.

Victoria Azarenka and Her Injury Woes
by
Karen Samartha Walker
When Victoria Azarenka won her first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in 2012, the former World No. 1 made history by being the first from her country to ever win a Major title in singles event. The Belorussian also pushed herself among the elite group of women players and established rivalries with other top players on the WTA tour. However, after the triumph at Melbourne, the 23-year-old could not reproduce her winning performance in the later Slams that followed in that year, though she made it into the last four stage at the Wimbledon and the final at the US Open.

by
Karen Samartha Walker
Save for the twenty one months that separate their dates of birth and the fact that one is a brunette and the other a blonde, there is little difference between Agnieszka and Urszula Radwanska. Introduced to the game by their father at an early age, the sisters especially the elder Agnieszka have evolved as a player and has succeeded to make her presence felt in the circuit. The sisters have also done a great service to their home nation by putting Poland on the tennis map with their recent achievement and contributions in the sport.
