Grand Slam Tennis - Hits and Misses in the Women's Draw
by
Peri Witny
The first week of the Australian Open has passed and play has gone into the fourth round. As what I have come to expect, the women's draw has come to be the more open side, with the top four seeds not as solid as the men side and prone to upsets.

Exciting Matches Loom In Wimbledon 2011 Women's Quarter-Finals
by
Suresh Iyer
All the eight women's quarter-finalists are ready to take on their opponents, on Wednesday, June 28, and the line-up promises exciting fare for tennis fans, barring the disappointment of not seeing either of the Williams sisters, in the fray. Czech Republic's Petra Kvitova will take on Bulgaria's Tszvetana Pironkova, in the first QF. World number 8 Kvitova who qualified by beating Yanina Wickmayer in the round of 16 is yet to drop a set in her four matches so far. Kvitova has been in great form recently, losing to eventual champion Na Li in the QF of the French Open and to Bartoli in the final of the AEGON Championships.

Tennis at the Beijing Olympics
by
Philip Oliver
The tennis tournament at this summer's Olympics should be one of the most interesting events of the games. Grand slam wins are the currency that top players deal in, but not many players will finish their careers as Olympic gold medal winners. For the first time in Olympic history almost all of the top players will be in action, and each will be desperate to make an impression ahead of the US open that starts later in August.

Aravane Rezai has certainly paid her dues while climbing the ranks of the WTA. She may not have taken an easy path to get where she is, but it's definitely been a family affair to get there.

Prediction: Sharapova Poised To Win Wimbledon 2011 Crown
by
Suresh Iyer
Russia's Maria Sharapova faces Czech Republic's Petra Kvitova in her bid for a second Wimbledon title, to add to the first one she won, in 2004. This promises to be a hard-fought match between two women in prime form, and a win by either woman could help define the new order of women's tennis, with the younger players ready and willing to take the baton from the old guard of the Williams sisters and Kim Clijsters.

Recreational players of individual sports can surely learn a great deal from touring professionals, but many lessons are difficult to see, some are even hidden BETWEEN points. Whether you play tennis, table tennis, racquetball, squash, or badminton handling and preparing for points methodically is a big advantage. For the pros, between point rituals have evolved toward one most productive routine. This article will detail what is usually going on inside a professionals mind in these silent moments the author refers to as the "Schedule for Emotions".
