Cop Shoots Dog

Cop Shoots Dog
My Father, My Dog, and the Cross
by
Jose Luna
I had just turned fourteen years old, the morning was a foggy one and at that hour of the morning the streets were very quiet. I put the chain on Jet as usual and headed for the door with him, or I should say rather he headed for the door with me. Jet was a 10 month old German Shepherd, with the strength of an elephant and the energy of a ten thousand watt light bulb, He was pretty much uncontrollable, and if I let go of the chain it would take me at least an hour to retrieve him...

Dog Day Afternoon
by
Simon Arseneau
Have you ever been flipping through your TV channels and suddenly you run into a media circus? Those are a lot of fun. The name fits incredibly well too. A circus implies entertainment, clowns, a ringmaster and an audience. However, the media part of the equation implies cameras and possibly a global audience, no matter how silly or violent the situation might turn out to be. That is the situation in which Al Pacino's character is plunged into in Sydney Lumet's "Dog Day Afternoon" from 1975.

Self Defense Ideas
Considerations
by Mr Jody Hudson
Particularly since 9-11-2001 there has been an increase in discussion of self defense in our country and others. Southern Delaware is wonderfully safe, secure and peaceful but there is still some discussion of self defense and self protection issues here. Our senior citizens and single people of any age are often first to feel threatened and that makes the single senior citizen the most concerned according to my experience. A few years ago I spent a year or so helping to set up and manage a couple of very large Neighborhood Watch and Community Watch groups in areas of predominantly older singles and senior citizens. I am active in several national and international forums where professionals from all walks of life, interact and correspond. Here are some self defense ideas that are currently being discussed on a philosophy of self defense, weaponry and martial arts forum that I have been quite involved with recently.

Think Tank and Radio Thoughts on Domestic Technologies for Americans
by
Lance Winslow
Welcome to this 21st day of October, 12-years into the 21st century. I wish thank all my online readers and radio listeners for their continued support. For today's talk I will discuss many items having to do with our technology for domestic purposes; entertainment, safety, education, and personal communication. It all matters and it is changing the way we live, how we think, and our path forward into the future.

True Warriors
by
Bohdi Sanders, PhD
Are terrorists real warriors? How about Nazis or gang members? They all participate or participated in warfare, which is how the dictionary defines a warrior. Isn't there more to being a warrior than being involved in warfare? What REALLY determines if someone is a true warrior?

Mother's Day in Jail - Charleston, SC
by
L. Jaye Bell
It's 4:00 AM on Mother's Day and I'm truly in the most surprising place to spend it. As far as surprises go, this one is a doozy; far above and beyond anything my children could have envisioned for their Momma. For hundreds of women behind bars, there won't be a Mother's Day. Only more of the same life with no hope, no way of getting out, no chance to see sparkling baby blue eyes and dimpled cheeks, no honoring the tireless job of mommies all over the world. I will not forget these women, for spending Mother's Day with them has been an experience I will remember forever.
