Squeeze Biography and Top 10 Songs
by
Andy Jackson
I started listening to Squeeze when I was about 7 or 8 because I remember buying Take Me I'm Yours at a flea market (I used to go to look for old original records) for about 25p on cassette single, and I remember buying it just because I liked the cover art. At another flea market pretty soon after I got the Squeeze album for about 75p and ever since then have loved their music.

Songwriting Techniques - Are You Faking it? Write Songs From the Heart
by
Martin Rushforth
I just thought I'd share a piece of really good songwriting advice given by Jay-Z (no don't stop reading yet!). I'm not into rapping at all but he was recently on a UK program called 'Later With Jools' which is an hour long and showcases many bands, and they always play absolutely live.

M People Biography and Top 10 Songs
by
Andy Jackson
Another one of those Manchester bands that I support are M People and I first heard of M People when the song How Can I Love You More? was released in 1991. The first time I heard the song I fell in love with Heather Small's voice and couldn't wait for the album to be released. I went to watch M People live a few years later and it was an amazing gig/experience and I would recommend anyone if they get the chance to go see them.

Sir Paul McCartney on Letterman
by
Ian Glasby
David Letterman interviewed Sir Paul McCartney in July 2009. I caught the show again when it was recently re-run. The interview was interesting, if at times a little awkward.

Birmingham Pubs and Bars - Champagne, Beer and Good Times in the Midlands' Capital
by
Pierre Evianne
Birmingham now has so many clubs that sometimes it can seem like too much hassle to decide which one to go to at the weekend. Occasionally it's nice just to sit down with a pint or cocktail with a group of friends and enjoy each others' conversation without having to shout over banging music. I have started relocating my weekend entertainment from clubs to bars and pubs instead.

His Heaven
by
Michelle Duffy
After a sell out tour, the long awaited solo album from David Gilmour, landed on our shelves this year proving to his long standing fan base that this middle aged 'grumpy old man' can still make the grade by giving us music to dream, reflect and inspire by. The self composed 'On An Island' is a imaginative collection of instrumental and vocal pieces by the man who became the guitar and the voice behind Pink Floyd.
