National Tequila Day
The History of Tequila
by
Melissa Blanco
Tequila is undoubtedly the national drink of Mexico. The history of the beginnings of tequila is a symbol of a rich heritage that dates back 900 years. The ancient Aztecs used a variation of tequila that was consumed during religious ceremonies and celebrations. Further variations of tequila have been produced in central Mexico over hundreds of years.

Cinco De Mayo Day - A Day of Celebration
by
Christine Szalay-Kudra
Cinco de Mayo day marks a very special event in the history of Mexico. On May 5th (and by the way, Cinco de Mayo means literally "5th of May" in Spanish) 1862, a force of Mexican soldiers led by General Ignacio Zaragoza defeated a group of invading French soldiers twice their number and much better equipped at the Battle of Puebla. Ever since that day, Cinco de Mayo has been celebrated in Mexico's Puebla state and in the nearby capital, Mexico City, although the holiday does not actually receive a great deal of recognition nationally.

Are You Trading For Thrills Or Dollar Bills?
by
Charles Maley
According to Ori and Rom Brafman in their book "Sway" the National Institutes of Health (NIH) conducted a rather interesting experiment. They gathered participants and placed them in a MRI like machine and gave them a computer monitor and a joystick. Then they played a game.

History of the Margarita
by
Maria L Andres
Like any drink that reaches such ubiquity, the history of the Margarita is shrouded in layers of myth and marketing. As such, the 'where' and 'who' are things we may never truly know. What we do know is that this refreshing summer favorite consists of tequila, lime, and an orange liqueur served in a salt-rimmed glass. Beyond that, we get into speculation and experimentation (the fun stuff).
