Among the literary greats who have emerged from France, Alexander Dumas (24 July 1802 - 5 December 1870) stands out with his popular set of historical novels which have adventure as their forte. Dumas was the grandson of a French noble man of high authority and a slave of Haitian origin. Many of his novels such as The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers have been made into serials. Transactions Major League Baseball Teams Wish They Hadn't Made
by
Mickey Morgan
Throughout the history of Major League Baseball (MLB) there have good trades and bad trades and then there some that are so bad you wonder what was the team thinking of. In this article I'm going to discuss some trades and some other miscues that teams would like to have had a "do over". These examples for the most part involve Hall of Fame players or future Hall of Fame players. I know this isn't an all inclusive list, so let me know if you have any other "bone-head" transactions you would like to add to the list.

Last month's Smithsonian magazine included a startling article on a recent survey by Sam Wineburg to determine the most "famous" Americans since the time of Columbus, other than presidents and first ladies. According to a survey of school-age children, six of the most famous Americans are women, and four are African-Americans.
