by
Suresh Iyer
Cape Town's Green Point Stadium will host the first semi-final of the FIFA World Cup 2010 on Tuesday between Holland and Uruguay. South American teams have dominated much of this World Cup, and not many would have dared predict the presence of three European teams in the semi-finals. London 2012 Olympics: The Return of Uruguay's Soccer
by
Alejandro Guevara Onofre
Universally famous for its talented footballers, the South American republic of Uruguay will compete in the men's Olympian soccer championship in the Briton capital of London in July and August 2012, after a 84-year absence in the Olympiad. Along with Brazil and the host country, it is one of the "heavy-favorites" to win the crown in the multi-sport event, an Olympic title won by Pedro Cea and his fellow Uruguayans in the 1920s (a couple of years prior to winning the Inaugural World Cup).

Holland Can Beat Uruguay With the Right Attitude
by
Suresh Iyer
Holland's attitude in the game against Uruguay will decide whether or not they reach their first final in 32 years. Against Brazil in the quarter final, there was no pressure of expectation; Holland were the underdogs. That motivated the Dutch to try harder. In the semi-final, the situation is reversed with Holland the favourites to win.

Time to Look at Uruguay Property Investment
by
Alison Kane
With a large proportion of investor attention focused on the larger and more popular Brazil, Uruguay has so far barely appeared on the property investor's radar. However, with its highly competitive property prices, booming economy and growing tourist sector, Uruguay has plenty to offer when it comes to property investment potential.

Expatriate Living - Have You Thought About Uruguay?
by
Lamar Ross
The mention of Uruguay for most people might bring up memories of the old computer game: "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego"? You may need a few clues to find it on the map. I dare say that the average American citizen would be hard put to locate Uruguay on a map.

German Memoirs - Latin American - Germans and Their Early Migration to Brazil
by
Rajkumar Kanagasingam
Birget, a student on city planning was telling her experiences in Cuba. Her experiences in the Caribbean Island were quiet strange. While she was narrating some of her observations, my discussion with Walker came to mind. Walker had a marvelous experience in Belize and other Latin American countries with German descendant Latin Americans. When the first group of Germans arrived in 1824 to Sao Leopoldo, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul in the southern Brazil, after 4 months of traveling, there were 39 people, being 33 Lutherans and 6 Catholics.
