Hail Rain

Hail Rain
Rain, Snow and Hail - Our Ever Changing Weather
by
Karel Kosman
In meteorology, the condensation and separation of the atmospheric water vapour as rain, snow, hail, fog, is called precipitation. We distinguish falling precipitation such as rain or snow, deposited precipitation, such as dew or fog, and accumulated precipitation in the form of hail or snow. When large clouds rise, they soon reach altitudes where temperatures are below freezing. These clouds are made up of ice crystals, water vapour, and droplets of water which, in spite of the below-freezing temperature have not yet crystallised into ice. Tiny small crystals coalesce into snowflakes, which fall to the ground. Snowflakes fall in the form of dry snow to the warm ground. If the snowflakes have to pass through a warmer layer of air, they melt and change into rain.

by
Lance Winslow
In ancient times, there was not one God, but many gods and the humans in ancient times believed that these gods controlled the weather, and created storms to harass, or teach humans a lesson and to keep them in line. Perhaps, this is why it seems like a natural for military leaders to want to use the weather as a weapon against their opponents. Just look at the destruction it can do?

Penny Mckay
This afternoon I decided to go for a run, well jog actually, but I like to convince myself I'm running. Now the fact that I have two marathons under my belt means that I run now purely for the health benefits and for being out there with the wind in my face and the sun in the sky. I love the feeling of my heart pumping, the breath coming and going, the blood flowing through my veins... you get the picture.
