The director Sanjay Gadhavi after directing some hit movies like Dhoom and Dhoom 2 definitely has faltered with the plot in Kidnap. Kidnap also does find parallels to the flick Zinda in terms of kidnapping theme. The movie Kidnap ignites intial interest, gets on to the waning mode with a lax plot, only to bow out without any fizzle.

Sweeping locales, classy music, good performances and good story line(after a long time) work in Yuvvraaj's favor. Yuvvraaj is a movie high on drama and visuals. After three back to back debacles in Yaadein, Kisna and Black and White, director Subash Ghai seems to have found his old, classic touch.

Dhoom 2, which came out in November 24, 2006, was such a big hit that it had a very successful opening in India and overseas. In the US alone, it had earned US$2,642,290 by early 2007. Dhoom 2 is a hugely commercialised film which does not have a proper story line, if it has any. Rather, the movie has spent much time and effort on all aspects of commercialisms in terms of the cast, entertainment, glamour, songs etc.

Sanjay Gadhvi is never known to make good films(Dhoom series worked because of stars, period) and the stars did not come to his rescue when he made the legendary flop of all times, Tashan. Sanjay wanted creative freedom to do things the way he wanted, which is why he directed Kidnap, without Yash Raj butting in. Sorry to say, but Sanjay Gadhvi has proved that Tashan's flop status was not a fluke.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is an ordinary love story told extra ordinarily. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi works like magic and only simpers and whimpers towards the last few minutes. The hit team of Aditya Chopra and Shahrukh Khan impress once again. What can really work in Yash Raj films favor is that Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has been done at a low cost, compared to most of its extravaganzas which have flopped mercilessly. Aditya Chopra has underplayed the film without marketing it excessively. So the chances of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi to become one of the biggest 2008 is clear. Treatment wise also, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi impresses. And yes, after Raj-Simran, Rahul Anjali, Suman-Prem, Aditya and Geet, we have another hit Jodi...Surinder and Tani..
