The Huffington Post - Throw Out The Rules!
by
Larry Braccio
Soon to be the most lucrative newspaper in the country, The Huffington Post, has succeeded by throwing out the rules. They have no printing plants, no revered style manual, not even a fancy building. They have changed the norm by hiring artists and change makers. They are succeeding because the questions they're asking are replacing the rules that aren't working.

Huffington Post Writes 'How FEAR Changes What We HEAR'
by
Rose White Young
I came across an article in the Huffington Post recently titled 'How Fear Changes What We Hear.' The article explains that a new study reveals fear can literally change our perception, a process that may help researchers better understand post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), other anxiety disorders and possibly conditions like autism.

Why the Best eBooks Are People Magazine Meets YouTube and The Huffington Post
by
Pat Mixon
All this buzz about ePublishing and eBooks misses the most important point: We're on the cusp of ePublishing 2.0. Just having a digital version of a printed book is what I call ePublishing 1.0. It's so the last decade. That's because prose is still prose and text is still text and who wants to take the time to read that?

Isn't It Time for a Huffington Roast?
by
Lance Winslow
The other day, a friend of mine bought an iPad, and I watched him using it at Starbucks, and marveled at the excellent technology, and all the apps he had downloaded. He showed me that he was reading the Huffington Post, a publication, online or otherwise that I wouldn't give you two cents for, but apparently AOL would. Interestingly enough my friend thought it to be a relatively trustworthy news source. Of course, I see it as exactly the opposite because to me, I feel the content is mostly leaning to the left and not always fair and balanced.

7 Ways Arianna Huffington Should Invest Her New Fortune
by
Linda P. Jones
Arianna Huffington has $315 million headed her way from the sale of the Huffington Post to AOL. Most financial advisors will recommend that she invest in mostly bonds in order to "preserve" her capital. The timing couldn't be worse for Arianna to make a move like that. This article explores the "do's" and "don'ts" of where to invest money now to preserve wealth. It's much different than what you think or where traditionally the right place to protect your money has been in the past.

Huffington Post Article Cites Asheville As America's Greenest Dining Destination
by
Sandy McLeod
Shortly before Earth Day in April, Huffington Post writer Jeff Biggers wrote a piece focused on Asheville, NC as a Green Dining Destination. Biggers' observations about Asheville are of interest to communities that wish to emulate this model. In Downtown Asheville and South Asheville near Biltmore Estate, dining destinations are retrofitting their operations to include energy saving, green features that reduce consumption of water and power and increase profitability.
