What Next for David Ortiz and the Boston Red Sox?
by
James D. Silver
We can remember when David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez and Johnny Damon were the "Bunch of Idiots" that beat the curse of the Bambino and brought the Boston Red Sox their first World Series in over 90 years. What none realized at the time was that their status could have been iconic.

David Ortiz
by

For a guy that hardly ever plays the field, David Ortiz sure gives the Boston Red Sox a lot. Even though Ortiz is usually nothing more than a designated hitter, he still finds more than one way to contribute to his team. Plus, he can also do a good job at first base if it is asked of him; don't think that Ortiz is simply a one dimensional player.

David Can't Slay the Goliath
by
Brian Kevin Williams
The lone New York representative in the 2006 Home Run Derby was fan-favorite David Wright. After an opening round onslaught of sixteen home runs, Wright was only able to hit six more homers throughout the course of the next two rounds, and eventually fell to the Phillies' Ryan Howard 5-4 in the finals.

The Boston Red Sox - Deserving World Series Champions
by
Nishan Wilde
The Red Sox players did a wonderful job against the Colorado Rockies in becoming the world champs for the second time in 4 years. But the real credit should go to Theo Epstein and the Red Sox front office.

Baseball - Five Reasons the Red Sox Should Be the AL Favorites
by
Charles Jay
Of course, it is no surprise that the Boston Red Sox are among the favorites to win the World Series, and right up there with the New York Yankees as a favorite to win the American League pennant. But why do I think they are going to win the AL, and possibly the whole ball of wax?

American Sports Going Global - Good Thing or Bad Thing?
by
Nishan Wilde
When Spring Training comes to a close in late March, Major League Baseball players are usually pretty excited about finally getting to play real games. This year, a few choice teams should be even more enthused about the their opening day games. Namely, the Dodgers, Padres, Athletics and Red Sox.

Big Papi - Boston's Not So Secret Weapon
by
R. F. Berry
One of the many fantastic baseball players to come out of Latin America, David Americo Ortiz Arias was born on November 18, 1975, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Despite what fans may suspect, he did not come out swinging, though he did later practice hitting with the heads of his sisters' dolls.

Handing Out the Hardware: NL and AL MVPs
by
James Meyerriecks
Jones, Pujols, or Lee? A-Rod or Big Papi? While the media has done a number on some of the postseason awards races, I'm here to show you that we are not fooled at all by some of the posturing of the four-letter network as they try to get their personal favorites some much-needed support for the postseason awards.
