What is Pope Benedict XVI Trying to Say about the Clergy Sex Abuse Scandal?
by
TK Kenyon
The current Pope, Benedict the Sixteenth, has a convoluted history through the Church's sex abuse scandals. So, when the Pope's personal preacher, Rev. Raniero Cantalamessa, spoke on December 15th during one of his Advent Friday meditations about the clergy sex abuse scandal, calling down wrath on the "abominations committed by [the Church's] very ministers and pastors," one wonders, was this a subtle message to or from His Holiness?

by
Karen Fish
The first Crusade was a thousand years ago when Pope Urban II marched his Christian Army across Europe slaughtering every Jew in his way to reclaim the Holy Land from Islam until the Christian soldiers stood knee deep in Muslim blood in Jerusalem. In 2003 President George Bush publicly declared another Christian Crusade.

Pope Benedict Favors Cats Over Dogs
by
Daisy Sawtelle
How can the Pope play favorites? He favors Chico, a cat. Benedict was known when ordained as The German Shepard not Francis of Assisi and until now has not yet adopted a dog or praised a canine. How many cats have gone to war, carried whiskey around their necks or saved lives? Have you ever heard of a 'seeing eye' cat or a 'sled feline'? Here are some suggestions while in the Papal Garden for the Pope to Pray upon.

Pope Benedict's Invitation to the World's Religious and Policymaking Communities
by
Don Sutherland
The furious reaction that ensued following Pope Benedict XVI's September 12 lecture at the University of Regensburg all but drowned out the vital issue he was raising, not to mention his invitation for cross-cultural and interfaith dialogue. Benedict's call for a "dialogue of cultures and religions" is an invitation that both the world's religious communities and its policymakers accept. It is that dialogue that might well offer the world a new "Road Map" that just might lead to the kind of increased peace and tolerance that seems so elusive at the first decade of the 21st century.
