Blackfish - Documentary Movie Review
by
Leslie Halpern
"Blackfish" goes behind the scenes at marine parks where orcas have injured and sometimes killed their trainers. Documentary filmmaker Gabriela Cowperthwaite interviews animal experts, former animal trainers, and eye witnesses, uses old film footage and newspaper articles, and examines the courtroom case involving the fatal attack of veteran killer whale trainer Dawn Brancheau by Tilikum, the orca also responsible for the deaths of two other trainers.

Spring Fishing at Block Island
by
John Monteleone
As we sped through the rips off the lighthouse we kept our eyes peeled for any signs of bird life that may signal the first arriving striped bass, but the water was quiet. Jetties were built for a host of very important reasons. Sensible reasons include reducing beach erosion, controlling storm surges, and designing a causeway to lead into a river or salt pond. These are all excellent reasons, but the most significant fact to a fisherman is that they each house fish sometime.
