Overall the Nokia N97 is a significant upgrade compared to the N95. In terms of how it rates against other top-end smartphones on the market it excels in camera quality, OS stability and battery life. It will take some time to get adjusted to the 3-row QWERTY keyboard and the unorthodox positioning of the space bar, but it will be worth the wait.

The source of the speculation is in large part down to a leak featured on the techsite, Omio, which claims to have got its hands on a release schedule for new phones by one of the big networks in Britain for the final year quarter of 2010.

I always feared Android phones would be all hype and overrated, mainly because it was said that the Android platform itself was seemingly fragmented as there were several versions of it running on various phones, therefore applications did not always run as well as they should on all phones. When I bought my 'el cheapo' Chinese made, great bang-for-the-buck, Android 2.2 powered ZTE Blade, I was hoping it will outdo my Nokia in terms of usability given the hundreds of thousands of Android apps in the 'Android Market'.
