Around the English Premier League - Round 25
by
Camilla Mancini
Manchester City safe the leading spot defeating Aston Villa, but it is still in danger with the Red Devils just 2 points behind. Round 26 is in almost two weeks so we'll have to wait a while to see if United will be able to recover the 1st spot -in the mean time, we have the UEFA's fixtures.

South American Footballers Who Have Played in the Premier League
by
Leigh Corbit
Reading reports in the papers recently about the likes of Neymar, Nilmar and Sergio Aguero expressing a desire to play their football in the English Premier League got me thinking about the amount of South American's who are currently playing, or have previously played in England. Players from nine South American countries have played in the EPL with the majority coming from Argentina and Brazil. Although there have been a few failures, many of the players have adapted well to the Premier League's style of play. Amongst the successes are Juninho, Carloz Tevez and Gilberto, the main failures being Veron, Forlan and Roque Junior. Manchester United top of the list of English Premier League clubs who have signed the most South American players with 10 players but Liverpool are a close second with 9. Manchester United currently have 4 South Americans in their squad while Liverpool have 5 players.

Premier League Golden Boot Leaders As On December 27
by
Suresh Iyer
Manchester United's Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov continues to lead the pack among the top scorers of the tournament, as on December 27. This is in spite of two of United's games being called off owing to adverse weather conditions. But Berbatov has serious competition from Manchester City's Tevez and Newcastle United's Andy Carroll.

The English Premier League Starts Here, But Who Will Be the New Champions?
by
David Carter
The English Premier League gets under way again, but who will be the eventual champions? Despite the bookies pricing Chelsea at two to one on, it could be a closer race than many people think. And could Spurs finally break into the top four? They might, especially if one of the big boys has a bad season. Either way, it looks good for an exciting season. Here's how I rate every clubs chances.

No Premier League Side in the Semi-Final of the Champions League! Is it a Sign of EPL's Fall?
by
Michael Tobechukwu
Firm followers of UEFA competitions and most especially the Champions League, can attest to the reality that there have been EPL sides in the semi-final of the champions league for the previous six seasons i.e. 2003-2009. In the past six seasons, EPL sides regular in the champions league (Liverpool FC, Manchester United FC, Chelsea FC and Arsenal FC) have all some way featured in the semi-final of the champions league in the past six seasons, which made English and even foreigners marvel at their absence this season, in the semi-final of Europe's elite club competition.
