Jacoby Ellsbury

Jacoby Ellsbury
Summer Bromance - The Jacoby Diaries
by
Adam Hutcheson
Follow my love for Jacoby Ellsbury as the 2009 season evolved. Centerfielder Jacoby Ellsbury blasted off in Sox Nation as a September call-up in 2007, hitting .353 in the regular season. Ellsbury helped lead the Red Sox through the postseason en route to a World Series title, but only after Manager Terry Francona yanked Coco Crisp from centerfield midway through the ALCS.

Boston Red Sox Seek to Rebound in 2010
by
Ken McCormick
The Boston Red Sox had a disappointing ending to their season being swept by the Los Angeles Angels in the American League Divisional playoffs. Despite winning 95 games and a wild card birth - Boston Red Sox fans will remember the bad times rather then the good. The Red Sox went 86 years without winning a championship and once the team did they expected to be in the hunt for another one every single year.

2009 Spring Training Preview - Boston Red Sox
by
Chuck Zodda
The Red Sox made it to within one game of the 2008 World Series despite being battered by injuries and lacking the potent offensive punch that had been the hallmark of their team during the early half of the decade. What we saw instead was a team that placed a premium on defense and pitching, using a an offense that was still above-average to win more close games than in the past. The Sox looked to address their offensive issues stemming from the possible loss of production from David Ortiz and Mike Lowell with the addition of Mark Teixeira, but missed out on the switch-hitter, who went to the Yankees instead. Since then, the Sox have taken to signing a number of high-upside players coming off injury, such as Rocco Baldelli, John Smoltz, and Takashi Saito. The Sox are now one of the deepest teams in the majors, something that could pay off if injury strikes again in 2009. In any case, they are still positioned to be part of a three-way battle for the AL East with the Rays and the Yankees.

Boston Red Sox 2010 Season Preview
by
Kenneth Y Lo
Being a Boston Red Sox fan has all of a sudden become very fun. After nearly a century of misery, the Sox have turned things around and the organization ranks among the league's best under current GM Theo Epstein. So what can we expect from the Sox in 2010?

The Boston Red Sox - Deserving World Series Champions
by
Nishan Wilde
The Red Sox players did a wonderful job against the Colorado Rockies in becoming the world champs for the second time in 4 years. But the real credit should go to Theo Epstein and the Red Sox front office.

Arizona Fall League - Baseball's Premier Winter League
by
Matthias Koster
What is the Arizona Fall League? Often discussed on various call-in shows, newspapers and now blogs, the Arizona Fall League (AFL for short) is a league for most of baseball's top prospects. The season begins in October and usually lasts a little over a month. However, this month is considered one of the most important times of a players season.

Reflections on Cougardom
by
Linda Marks
I first learned that "cougars" are just as likely to be found in the suburbs of Wellesley, as in the wilds of the mountains at a meeting of a small business group last year. A woman who was a medical aesthetician, described her ideal referral as a "cougar," and since I had never met a four-legged in search of skin care or plastic surgery, I figured she must be referring to a different breed!

Fantasy Baseball In-Season Adjustments - Competing on Steals and Runs
by
Brian Hawks
August is a pivotal point in the fantasy baseball season. It is at this point that a fantasy owner makes the decision to compete for the title or quit. Often stolen bases and runs are categories which a fantasy baseball team can advance in with a concentrated effort. This article will introduce the speed rating statistic made popular by Bill James to identify players with the best chance of contributing in stolen bases and runs.

Can the Boston Red Sox Win the 2009 World Series?
by
Scott Maloney
For a quick few weeks, it looked as if the perennially competitive Red Sox were falling apart at the seams. Suddenly, the team that seemingly makes the playoffs each year looked as if it might not in fact make it to October this season. Most notably, the Red Sox were struggling mightily in the starting pitching department.
