Delphi - The Sanctuary of Apollo
by
Mary Fourla
Leaving the sanctuary of Athena Pronaia behind us, and before reaching the cleft of the Phaidriades, we see on our left the Gymnasion as it was modelled in the 4th century B.C. The formation of the ground divides the area into two long and narrow levels. The lower level is smaller. To the east was the palaistra, with a central court surrounded by colonnades and rooms behind them, the undressing-room, wrestling-pit, ball-courts, etc.

Cyprus Car Hire - Driving From Limassol to Kourion and the Sanctuary of Apollo Hyates
by
Dr Andreas Cabriolet
If you are planning a holiday to the popular tourist destination of Limassol (also known as Lemesos) in Cyprus, you can hire a car and drive to the ruins of the ancient city of Kourion (also known as Curias or Curium) and the Sanctuary of Apollo Hyates for a great day out. Kourion is only about 20km away from Limassol, so it's easy to reach if you hire a car. You can pick up your Cyprus hire car when you arrive at Larnaca or Paphos airport, or hire a car in Limassol.

Ancient Greek Theatre of Dionysus
by
Stella G
Looking at the altar now overgrown with weeds in the theatre of Dionysus, one cannot but reflect on how the theatre evolved from a rural troop expressing primitive desires into an expression of the mind. There was a sanctuary of Dionysus on this side of the Acropolis since the time when his cult began to spread.
