James Brown: A Strict Disciplinarian, a Brilliant Songwriter, and the Night He Saved Boston
by
Paul Romaine
James Brown was a strict disciplinarian with his staff and would dock their pay if they were late or their appearance was not satisfactory. This was because he felt that the audience deserves the best from him and his group. His songwriting ability didn't always conform to proper music writing but he felt that if it sounded good he would record it as is. The Night He Saved Boston was during a concert the day after Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. Due to his taking charge of a crowd at a concert and telling them several things, the concert went on without any rioting and his demeanor throughout the concert was admirable.

Boston has some of the most diverse museums available Boston is filled with tremendous links to U.S. history. For example Boston is where the Boston Tea Party was held as a rebellion to British rule.

Tony Maniscalco
Recent studies show that the human brain retains more facts when learned while indulging in some physical activity, such as jumping, running and walking. USA history could be included in this theory, and you may just learn and remember enough about the American Revolution to win game shows while walking Boston's Freedom Trail!

Can Businesses Help Save Our Historical Public Parks?
by
Bonnie Hurd Smith
This falls under the category of new solutions to ongoing problems, in this case the decaying of our historical public parks. I don't like advertising or omni-present corporate identities either, but I do think the business sector can provide vital assistance in tasteful, unobtrusive ways. Businesses can win big by being a good neighbor, and doing it with class.
